Secondary button on model 1023 mouse stopped working
The primary button (left button) works fine, but the secondary button (right button) will not function at all. I switched them and the problem is still with the right button. What can I do to fix this?

Re: secondary button on model 1023 mouse stopped working
Unfortunately it sounds as if it is broken or the connector is dislodged. You can attempt to play around with it by opening up the mouse, however I myself would send it back to the retailer or the manufacturer asking for a refund or a replacement.

I'm not sure about your exact model, but on my microsoft wireless mouse (model 1023) there is a silver button on the front that you push to release the plastic piece on top (push the button and hook the top plastic piece with your fingernail and lift up). There will be a battery compartment for 2 AA batteries. If there is no button release, look on the bottom of the mouse for a button or release flange. They are replaceable, so just investigate and play with it until you get it to open up. Good luck, and hope this works!

To change mouse settings in XP for left-handed users: Click Start and click Control Panel. Double click the Mouse applet. Verify that the Buttons tab is selected. Select the Switch primary and secondary buttons option is selected. Click OK.
