Step1First you will need to check a few things, just to make sure what the actual problem is.

*Check to see that all cords are properly plugged in.
*Make sure the sensor bar is properly center above or below your tv set.
*Make sure that nothing is blocking the signal to the sensor bar.
*Make sure that the batteries in the remote are in good working order.
*Make sure that there are no wireless devices close by that might be interfering with the signal. Step2If after all this the remote is still not working then it probably needs to be re-synced. Step3Turn off and unplug your wii console for a few minutes. Step4*Turn the power back on and when you see the the safety screen open the small flap on the front of the wii console. Inside you will find the red sync button. Press and hold the red button down for 15 seconds.

* Then remove the battery cover from the wii remote, inside you will see another red button.

* Press and release the red button, the blue lights on the remote will start blinking.

* Quickly press and release the red sync button on the wii console.

* The remote will stop blinking and it should now be synced.

Hi Kenleecpa,
Your best bet would be to access the settings to do a reset,  and contact Nintendo.
First on your Wii Console: 1. go to the wii settings.
2. go to the last page.
3. chose “wii system memory format”

It will then ask you for a password in most cirumstances. At that point you shall call Nintendo and they will provide you with that password and it will reset to factory settings.

I hope i have helped,

Hi!
Here is how to reset your Nintendo Wii:

1. First, the easy way. A soft reset of the Ninetendo Wii. If you Nintendo Wii has just started acting up and there is no reason to perform a hard reset then follow this instruction. Simply press the reset button and hold down for 2 seconds on your Nintendo Wii Console.

2. Now, for the more advanced hard reset. Interestingly, the Nintendo Wii has NO hard reset facility to be accessed through the machine or via buttons. The ONLY way to hard reset your Nintendo Wii is to UNPLUG it for 5 minutes. Once it is unplugged it resets itself and your badly behaving Nintendo Wii should be restored.

Note: By hard resetting the Nintendo Wii, it will not delete any information on the SD Card that is used for storage. If you wish to delete this data, stick it into a computer with a multi-media card device or a digicam and reformat it.

the wii systems are not region coded per say but because they are made to be used in certain areas of the world you could run into some problems. this site here will explain a lot.

I am sorry but the Japanese Wii has no option for English language menus. All Wii menus will be in Japanese.

The Japanese Wii does not have a language change option. Also, games will of course be completely in Japanese and you cannot play games in English without breaking the Wii and modding it.

No, the Wii is region locked. Unless you get a mod chip to play out of region games. But I don't think there is a way to change the menu language.

It sounds like you need help from the Nintendo team since hardly anyone in the US has the Japanese or any other foreign version of the system and knows how to troubleshoot issues.

Its in Japanese right? Modding it to English is an illegal practice, not to mention its not advisable as it will restrict the number of games you can play. My suggestion is that you sell your current Wii and purchase another US version.
