Re: can you remove hotpoint bwm 12 washing machine filter
Hi, yes it is. Hotpoint bwm12 is a built-in washing machine, the filter is located at the bottom (black round knob). Undo the filter by turning it to the left (please be sure there's no water inside the machine, or getas much as possible out before opening the filter).

This is an easy task if you can pull the machine from under the worktop and tilt it back so it is at an angle (unplug it first ) remove plastic plinth get washing up bowl remove the three screws round the filter at this you will find the pump is now loose if shake pump so that any thing inside will move and keep trying to unscrew cap this method works I've done it loads of times to replace pump back line up the screw holes insert screw.then check your pockets evertime you wash
You need to check and clean filter first.
You will find the filter is normally located behind a removable plastic cover at the front right side of the m/c.
Make sure the drain hose is not kinked or restricted..
Make sure you have not selected rinse hold..
Obviosly make sure pump is actually working.
Plz rate this solution .Thanks.
Remove the back of the machine to expose the inner drum pulley. Need to know if this pulley is rotating and if there is any side to side play.
The noise you are discribing does sound like a rear bearing that is mounted in the external tub housing. Depending on the age of the machine, this bearing is NOT replacable. The outer tub must be replaced because the bearing is molded into the drum.
