SOURCE: Loud squeaking brakes.

If they are wearing down, they may squeak, and some brakes have a metallic part that will come in contact with the rotor when the wear gets to a certian point making an awful squeaking sound telling you that mabe you should change 'em soon, eh

SOURCE: 1999 Ford Windstar, Grinding Noise when brakes are pressed

Sounds like the pads are worn out and are grinding on the rotors. You will likely have to replace the pads and rotors.

SOURCE: 2005 Ford Freestar. Started car,

These are common for stripping the splines in the torque converter for the pump shaft. If it did this when you check the fluid with the engine running it will read overfull. To fix it you would have to remove the transmission and replace the torque converter.

SOURCE: I get shaking in. The

Sounds like the rotors need to be turned...this and new brake pads should help the noise and the shaking.
The knocking sound may be a worn bushing on the idler arm.

Hope this helps...

SOURCE: Problems: Ford focus 2007 model 1.

It sounds like you have a voltage feedback that is providing power to your shift interlock solenoid and your brake lamps are being fed by your daytime running lamp circuits. Check the bulb and make sure that:
1. It is the CORRECT bulb for the vehicle
2. The bulb is installed correctly
3. The bulb SOCKET is not damaged or shorted
4. The replacement bulb is not defective and shorting internally (NEW and GOOD are NOT the same thing)

Testimonial: "Thanks a mil for the advise, incorrect bulb was the root cause of my problem."

What would cause loud idling sound , jerking motion and unresponsive brakes to a 2001 audi tt (manual transmission) after adding brake fluid?

loud idling may be higher rpm's and unresponsive brakes point to a vacuum leak in the power booster hose that will run very clos to the reservoir.

Hooting noise coming from rear right side of car

It might be a warped brake rotor. Does the noise change depending on if you have your foot on or off the brake pedal?

JERKING

It sounds like your brake rotors are warped (out of round), this would cause a pulsating or **** type feeling when using the brakes. Having the rotors 'cut' (an auto shop puts the rotor on a lathe that cuts the surface perfectly smooth on both sides) should cure this. Check the cost though, rotors are quite inexpensive, and it may be cheaper to just buy new ones. I believe the charge in my area is approx. $18 to cut a rotor. countrycurt0
