Check to see if the photo cell is clean.to check it open the side compartment and look for the blue and white wire comming from photo cell,on the reset switch there is a white wire and a blue wire.hook these two wires to gether at the switch and try to refire the unit.if the unit keeps running the photo cell is bad and NEEDS to be changed.if the unit shuts off the safety switch is bad.

It could be a pressure problem, old fuel, clogged nozzle, etc. If you can furnish me with the correct model number, I will be able to help you further. Reply by using the Leave a Comment link.

On that motor there should be a thermal overload to shut motor off in the event that it gets to hot. There also should be a start capacitor and if it is getting weak that could account for the unit tripping the breaker if it is trying to draw to many amps on start up. I would start by replacing the capacitor with plan to install new motor soon.
You may be able to extend the life of your motor some by giving it and fan a good cleaning, Good luck and thank you.

Heater will not run

You don't say, but I am assuming that the motor is running and there is combustion in the combustion chamber and the heater is running fine, then the reset trips. Is this correct? If so, chances are the Safety Control (reset) is defective. Part number HA3003. The photocell could also be at fault. Check for a dirty lense on the photocell.

But---If there is no combustion in the chamber, then the photocell detects a no-flame condition and then it trips the reset.

Torpedo heater runs for a minute or two then the breaker trips.

You can test the photocell by hooking up a ohm meter on thr rx1k scale. Photo cell should be out of the heater.Hold photocell up to a light bulb, with light on resistance of photocell should drop to 0 to 100 ohms.Holding finger over the photcell and blocking the light the resistance should go up to the maximum resistance
