Singer 8763 Needle Won't Go Up and Down

I just bought a new Singer 8763 a couple days ago. I tried out a few "test" stitches on scrap fabric to get the feel of the machine. I started to sew on my project and the fabric got jammed into feed dog. I removed the fabric and the tangled thread easily. After that, my machine stopped working right. I push the pedal and it runs, but the needle won't move. It acts as if the bobbin winder is engaged and it is not. I've tried rethreading the needle and bobbin, removed the plate and cleaned that out (nothing there)...I'm at a lose. I just bought this and I'd really love to use it!

Read the user manual and if you do not get anything from the trouble shooting section take it back for a warranty check as something may have moved from the material jam

SOURCE: Machine will not pick up the bobbin thread.

if your machine's needle threads from front to back, make sure that the flat part of the needle shank points to the rear of the machine. If it threads from left to right, the flat side should face right, etc.

Straight stiches great. select any other stitch and it stitches about an inch and then stops

Test: With straight stitch and needle on left side sew.
With straight stitch and needle on right side sew.
Does one of the two sew and the other not sew?
The reason is the timing of the needle and bobbin are not set right. In other words it is in need of timing from a repairman.

I buyed a new sewing machine curvy 8763 and when i start trheading the bobbin the needle stats working as well and it starts beeping

Consult your owner's manual. There is a handwheel release that, when loosened, will allow the bobbin to wind but stops the needlebar trying to stitch.

Brand new sewing machine wont stitch. Any ideas?!?!

I'm sure you've done this, but I'll just throw this out there. Did you pull the bobbin thread through the groove that slants on the left side of the needle plate starting from the upper left corner of the bobbin cover?

Sewing machine won't take a single stitch

WOw Paying attention would have been best...Thread machine properly of course, insert bobbin spinning in the correct directions
a simple top stitch sounds fine. Go On You Tube and look for your machine, and a descent video of someone using it.

The machine isn't making stitches. It's threaded correctly. I have been sewing leather recently and it's been acting up since then. I have cleaned the bobbin area. And have adjusted the tension...

Hello

Adjust the Stitch Length;

To make longer stitches, set the stitch length to a higher number. On many sewing machines, four is the longest possible stitch length and two is average.

To make shorter stitches, set the stitch length to a lower number. At a zero, the sewing machine may not actually make stitches, since the needle will go up and down in one place.

Cut a small scrap of fabric, preferably the same type you want to sew with.

Sew a few test stitches on the scrap. Examine the stitches to make sure they're the length you want.

Adjust the stitch length again as needed.

I have a Singer 6105 and the thread is birdnesting for the second time in a few weeks. I have cleaned the bobbin area, threaded and rethreaded and changed needles. All to no avail. When this happened a few...

Double check:

Threaded with presser foot up.
Feed dogs are engaged.
Stitch length set at proper length.
Thread is feeding from the bobbin spool in the correct order and through the proper guides.

Problem still there - take the machine and a sample of the stitching back to the repair guy and ask him to check the timing.

When you pick up the machine, take a scrap of fabric and give the machine a thorough test run - threading, bobbin winding, stitching before leaving the shop.
