Its a sort of clanking noise when it is pulling the paper through. I have removed the fuser and put it back in and checked if anything is sticking but cannot see. the printer isn't under warrant. Thanks very much for your help.

What kind of noise, is it a grinding/ratcheting noise from the back? Difficult to say what the cause is without hearing it for myself, best guess would be the fuser/motor gears. HP have been replacing a lot of these under warranty over the last 12 months or so. If it has any warranty left call the HP support line as it takes an experienced technician over an hour to replace them. Try the HP support site at http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html

HP Laserjet 4350n, is always wanting to print from tray 1

Typical of this machine. You have worn out feed rollers in tray 2. There are three of them, two in the top of the machine after removing the tray and one in the tray itself

My printer hp laserjet 4350n is not printing because it shows or display 49. ff04 service error

A critical firmware error has occurred that
caused the processor on the formatter to
abort the operation.
This type of error can be caused by invalid
print commands, corrupt data, or invalid
operations.
In some instances, electrical noise in the
cable can corrupt data during transmission
to the printer. Other causes include poorquality
parallel cables, poor connections, or
specific software programs.
Sometimes, the formatter itself is at fault,
which is usually indicated by a 79 Service
Error.

Recommended action Hp Service Manual
1 Press CANCEL JOB to clear the print job
from the printer memory.
2 Turn the printer off and then on.
3 Go to www.hp.com/go/lj4350_software.
Select Download Drivers and
Software. Check for the latest firmware
image version at the bottom of the
page. If this firmware image is newer
than the one installed on the printer
and the printer can receive a firmware
update, download the newer firmware
upgrade.
4 Try printing a job from a different
software program. If the job prints, go
back to the first program and try
printing a different file. If the message
appears only with a certain software
program or print job, contact the
software vendor for assistance.
5 If the message persists when using
different software programs and
attempting specific print jobs,
disconnect all cables that connect the
printer to the network or a computer.
6 Turn the printer off.
7 Remove all memory DIMMs or thirdparty
DIMMs from the printer. (Do not
remove the firmware DIMM in slot J1.)
See Firmware DIMM (LJ 4200/4300
only).
8 Remove all of the EIO devices from the
printer.

4350 nosiy while in sleep mode

If it comes out of "sleep mode" every 10 minutes, and you haven't touched the printer or sent any data to the printer, try unplugging the LAN cable for 15 minutes. If the printer stays in "sleep mode"either the formatter is bad or whatever is on the other end of the LAN cable could be bad. If you can put the printer on another PC to see what happens, that would really help you out.
