Its not due to the laptop, the other person is viewing you on the internet (Yahoo/Msn etc) so the Video might get frozen sometimes or may be a lot many times depending on the bandwidth or the server load.
The voice is due to the microphone you are using, you can use microphone with noise reduction technology with some noise reduction utility.
there is no microphone on ur webcam, how u can record a voice without a microphone, so use a desktop microphone ( or headphone with microphone ), connect it to ur pc through mic in. and record again, then, u'll see the video with sound when u plyaback it.
According to what you've told so far it's gong to be software problem. I had such thing with my dv6000 when webcam and microphone stopped working for no reason. So to solve the problem CLICK HERE, select your operating system, download the webcam drivers and reinstall them.
Try going into Control Panel, go to Sounds and then click on speakers and make sure it isn't muted or the right speakers are not set as default. If I knew what operating system you were using I could better direct you as to what to do. Hope this is of some help. Bud
