Question about Quantum PX506 LTO-3 Tape Drive
Windows 2003 with Netbackup 6.5.Quantum PX506 library.
OS sees unknown medium changer ( with Microsoft driver), but Netbackup does not see it when configuring storage devices. It just sees the 2 LTO3 tape drives (symantec drivers are loaded on drives)
I can not find any driver specifically for the medium changer either from Quantum or Symantec. Quantum states to use drivers from backup software but just have tape drive drivers , not medium changer.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: medium changer did not show
Check that the unit is set to random mode instead of sequential mode
(FYI Sequential mode treats the whole machine as a single big tape, while random lets the software say what tape is going to be used.)
