Question about Aspire Acer 7520-5071 Notebook
Sounds like you might have picked up a virus. What virus protection are you using. Check in control panel add/remove programs and see if there is any thing install thing strange. I would then download Avast Home Edition from www.avast.com. Allow it to install and do a boot scan. Delete any thing that it finds and allow it to update. Also download and run ccleaner.com this will clean up a lot of stuff that may have need to be removed.
I hope this helps. Please post results and rate.

Power on the laptop computer and wait for the operating system to boot before proceeding.
Right-click the wireless icon in the lower right corner of the desktop.
From the pop-up menu select "Enable."
This activates the wireless Internet options but it does not turn on the wireless receiver.
Push down on the wireless button or wireless switch on the top of the keyboard.
After a moments time the switch or button lights up, signifying the computer is ready for an Internet connection.
Right-click the wireless icon again.
From the pull-up menu choose to view all available wireless networks in the area.
A window appears with all the networks your computer receives some sort of signal from.
Select the wireless network you want access to, type in the password (if required) and click "Connect." Momentarily the laptop computer connects to the Internet.
you should be able to, it depends on the laptop, the os, the wireless adapter, and the settings .
click start Control Panel - Network Connections - right click on 'Wireless connection'
(or similar) and click 'enable'.
right click on the network in the bottom toolbar select open network sharing center
you should have the options to either connect or disconnect or set up a network connection
this will vary depending on your operating system
hope this helps
