My monitor (avidav 17" TFT LCD monitor) flickers for a few seconds then goes black this mostly happens on screens with more colour and content, until recently making the moitor desplay images by changing resolution eventually fixed it until the next time it was left off for a long period this now no longer works any help pls?
It could be the capacitors on your monitor's Power Supply. Open up the lcd and check the power supply board see if you see any "BULGED UP" capacitors. If thats the case you most likely just need to replace the bad capacitors. Go to radio shack or electronics supply store buy the same capacitors with the same mF and volts. If you can't find the same ones then always go with higher voltage. Replace the bad ones with new ones following this video. Make sure you note the negative terminals on the CAPS before you remove them. The shorter side on the new CAP is always negative.
T means your system display card settings are too high for your
monitor. Boot your system into safe mode and set the display settings
lower. Right mouse button click on an empty space on your desktop and
go to properties. Then settings->advanced and you should be able to
adjust the vertical frequency down to 60hz or 72hz. If not, then go to
the monitor tab and load a generic monitor driver.
One time, I
bought a repackaged display card that had been set too high and I had
to reload the card driver in safe mode to get it to work correctly.
pls rate my solution
thankyou for using fixya
