It looks like the window files are corrupt or the hard drive is in trouble. Remove hardware and reseat it back into place. If no! try reloading your operational windows if available, if no result! hard drive should be assessed for a replacement.

I was downloading a song on my brand new compaq mini and i looked away for a second and it shut down I turned it back on and it loads to start normally and safe mode I tried them both but once it gets to...

The song was a virus, or had corrupted files. Log into safe mode then click in start menu > accesories > system tools > system restore.

Restore it to the day before the incident and apply. That should work.

Computer powers up by its self when first plugged in

Most BIOSes have a setting for what to do after a power failure--stay off, turn on, resume last state. If the user is unplugging the unit before a total legal and proper shutdown, then that might explain why it turns on 'when plugged in'. Disconnecting before completely shut down is detected by the BIOS as a power failure.

Also, killing power to a running system can cause file table corruption, corrupt files, a destroyed operating system, even in rare cases a total loss of everything on the disk.Although, If you mean the computer turns on by its self after it's been turned off (so he unplugs it to keep it from powering on), then it might be "auto awake" settings in the bios, I've seen some bios' have "auto-power on" settings so that signals from network cards or peripherals can power the computer up.

Also It turns out the CMOS battery went out and that probably reset the BIOS so the computer itself was set to turn on by itself when it was plugged in. With a new CMOS battery and a quick setting change the computer is ready to go.

Computer turns on, no signal to lcd. Hard drive

The blue screen was caused by corrupted drivers or a virus that was corrupting the drivers. Have you tried starting the machine in SAFE mode? To do this press F8 while the computer is starting before Windows loads. You should get a menu with several SAFE mode choices. Select SAFE mode and continue. If the computer works fine at this point, I suggest downloading the following AVGFREE.exe, MALWAREBYTES.exe and SUPERANTISPYWARE.exe. Run these to absolutely eliminate any chance of a virus. Once done go to START, Run and type SFC/scannow. You’ll need to have your original CD’s handy. This will replace any corrupt drivers. Now, what to do if you can’t get into SAFE mode. The question then is anything showing on the screen? If nothing but you can hear the fans but no beep codes I suggest you take the laptop to a reputable repair person or check my website www.micromendllc.com. Good luck.

i have this problem before, actually there are many causing blue screen. it might be the memory, hardisk, and the corruption of windows files etc. for you check first your hardisk if detected in your bios setup. if hardisk detected run safemode. then repair your windows.
