F 08 & f 02 flashing on my hotpoint ultima wf860 washing machine.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
For most Indesit (Hotpoint and Ariston) models 'F08' means 'heater relay (possibly) stuck'. 'Check power supply connections to the heater, wiring and module (i.e. PCB) connections'. 'F02' means 'motor jammed or module connections'! (apparently poor PCB connections are often the cause of faults)
So- if you are not electrically confident and competent yourself, which you may be, you need to employ the skills of a partner, friend or service engineer ;-0)
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

My hotpoint ultima is not heating, the drum spins. could you advise what the problem is

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

For most Hotpoint (and other named) models there is a common problem often indicated by 'F08' which decodes as 'heater relay (possibly) stuck'. 'Check power supply connections to the heater, wiring and module (i.e. PCB) connections' (apparently poor PCB connections are often the cause).

So- if you are not electrically confident and competent yourself, which you may be, you need to employ the skills of a partner, friend or service engineer ;-0)
Sorry we cannot be of more help!
Good luck, John C

What does the fault code f-03 mean on a hotpoint ultima ? can it be easily fixed?

f-03 is a common problem with this machine.
The circuit board is situated very close to the bottom of the machine and also very close to the motor.
When the machine vibrates it can cause the circuit board to come away from the side mountings and gets struck by the motor. Mine did this and ended up cutting through the wires to the PCB. not good. cost me £125 for new PCB and had to re-wire. but this gave me the fault code F-03

My Ultima WF860 keeps displaying F-01. I also want to check that the pump is clear but don't know where to find it?

Hi,

"Error F01"is indicating that the motor triac has short circuited on main PCB, this is part of the electronic speed control for the motor. You can do simple checks like motor connections/brushes etc.If the connections are seems to be perfect check the wiring whether it has continuity from motor to PCB. If there is no continuity then the PCB is faulty.Hotpoint's advice is to call an engineer, it is not really a DIY repair, unless you have a good knowledge of electronics.

Thank you !!

Hotpoint WMA66 starts to fill but instead of beginning to agitate it begins to spin for a second or two and then drains!

Sounds like a tacho fault. Could be you have a broken wire on the motor circuit. Tilt the machine back and take a look underneath at the wires leading to the motor. This is just to give you an idea if it is a broken wire, you shouln't try to repair it like this, you would need to remove the front panel to allow yourself enough space to affect a repair. For a workshop manual on the WMA66 which would give additional help and advice on dismantling and rebuilding as well as fault finding click on the link.

Sounds like the PCB is Freaking out. All you can do is Check all the connections between the Main board and Display board and if you still have the problem - then i'm afraid it is probably the Main Board gone Faulty.
