Having looked at the boards, I saw that a lot of people asked about how to listen to MP3 files on your Nokia 6600. I saw numerous possible answers, but I didn't find any of them too useful. They included suggestions like:

- Convert it to WAV
No good because it takes up too much space.
- Use a Symbian-based MP3 player
They cost money or are unreliable
etc.

So here is my solution. The 6600 has a very nice in-built Realplayer, so let's use that. Simply convert any MP3 you want to listen to into a RealMedia file! The necessary tool is freely available from RealNetworks itself, at the time of writing available from this URL:

http://www.realnetworks.com/products...cer/basic.html

Here is an important tip: When converting the file, make sure you select the appropriate "audience". By audience, the conversion tool basically just means the quality of the file. The better the quality, the more space it takes up.

A standard MP3 file usually has a bitrate of 128kbps. During conversion, I selected 128k Dual ISDN as the audience, because that gives a bitrate of 100kbs, the closest I found to 128kbps. At this quality, 2 minutes of music ends up at around 1.5 Megabytes. This means about 40 minutes of music can be stored on a 32 Megabyte Multimedia Card. You might want to set the quality lower if you want to store more.

Also, if you don't touch the audience settings, then by default the converter produces three different quality outputs simultaneously, and saves all three in the output file. This obviously wastes space.

Hope this helps, Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

Mp3 is a data disc format. look at your owners manual to see what formats can be played. You may only be able to play standard compact discs in your machine.

I have new lcd sansui fontes and i m unable to play movies thru USB. as its written in website that lcd has a divx player and the movie format is divx frendly so please help how to play that movie

Some of movies encoded in Xivd (not divX, thought thye are compatible) are not supported my some manufacturers.

One of the following should help
- Re-encode the movies in DIVX format and play them
- Upgrade your TVs firmware to support the latest video formats

How to play video with .bin or of undf types ?

undf format!!!

This is most probably a FAKE Torrent download
It won't work, delete it
Don't play in WMP, if its redirecting you other sites.
FYI 'undef' is the token returned by vlc player when you try to play the formats which it not supported/or undefined.
If the video direct you play in WMP, the only thing is probably downloaded movie/video and it isn't a video at all!!
Some "Good for nothing creep" will this just to track or hack or render your PC to malfunction.
Better delete the damn file!!!

When I try to play music downloaded from Virgin my Tevion mp3 player comes up Format error. How do I get the music to play?

Format error means that you are not playing the file extension which is supported by your mp3 player ,it should be .mp3 extension.
for eg if your song name is let the music play.it should be as let the music play.mp3
if you are unable to see .mp3 extension
goto my computer>tools>folder option >view tab > uncheck "hide extension for know file types".
if you have any problem .just reply with a comment so that i can help you further

Good luck

thanks for using fixya
