Question about ASUS Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Motherboard seems to have failed

The motherboard on my Mesh computer Cubex 64 style has failed.
I am told that it is an ASUS nforce3 -150 board. The problem seems to be that any replacement needs to be 25cm X 18c for it to fit inside the case. Any ideas where I might get one?

I suggest you take a look on newegg.com catalog, it provides a lot of information on the products such as, but not limited to, size of the motherboard and full specs of it.
You need a Motherboard which is in the Micro ATX size range
(which goes from about 17x17cm to about 24.5x24.5cm) check Micro ATX models to find one that fits your needs.
you can buy the motherboard directly from newegg or fid the model you like and buy it somewhere else.

I am using ASUS K8VMX motherboard with AMD Athlon 64 2800+ motherboard. Now my motherboard has gone bad. I want to change it. Suggest which motherboard should i use (754 socket)

Whatever board that is in a microATX format and has a 754 socket will do - they all had the same general hardware characteristics and requirements - so get the cheapest you can find.

I have an Asus M2N68AM-Plus Mobo and a Asus GeForce GTX 460 1028mg video. Onboard video works, but I cant get the board/windows7 Pro 64-bit to read the geforce gtx 460.

your motherboard is not a 64-bit board so it cannot support the windows 7 64-bit version. you should get the 32-bit version or upgrade your ram and then your windows should be able to read your onboard video.

Check your power supply. A beep every 5 seconds or so generally indicates a problem with power supply voltages.

I am planning ASUS motherboard.

Based on your previous Motherboard which i assume is the M2N-MX, it seems you are looking for a AMD board.

I would recommend the ASUS M3A78 or M3A78-T, both can be had for less then 130$ and offer support for the new Phenom II 45nm chips as well as the older 65nm and 90nm socket AM2 chips (ala the AMD 64 X2 chips).

I have used 4 or 5 of these boards for new pc builds lately and have been very impressed with them.

Hope this helps.

Replacing Asus CUV4x Motherboard with Asus p5vd2-vm-se motherboard? I have my old computer that i want to replace with new set of motherboard. My old computer has the following specification: Asus CUV4x...

Hi eibral2345, sorry but there is no chance the motherboard, Asus P5VD2-VM-SE will run the Samsung memory. It’s the old style 3.3V PC133/100 SDRAM. The new Asus motherboard,
P5VD2-VM-SE uses Single-Channel DDR2 - 667MNz or 533MHz memory. Here is a link to the specs of the Asus CUV4X: http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=314&page=3
Here are the specs for the Asus P5VD2-VM-SE MB: http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=1787&l1=3&l2=11&l3=369&l4=0

Will the new Asus board fit in your case? It should!
The larger measurement is the height of the board.
The Height + Width of the new board is smaller than the older board.

Have more questions?
Good luck eibral2345!
Mike

Shutdown

Auto shutdowns can be any number of problems but since it seems to do it about the same time frame of turning it on then I would verify and make sure that the heatsink / cpu fan is installed correctly and thermal grease has been applied. Also run a memory check as failed memory could also result in a simillar problem. Another source of problems simillar to this would be the power supply.
