Question about Reddy Heater RLP100 Portable Forced Air Propane Heater with Variable Heat Ouput

1 Answer

Pilot makes wind noise

I have a heater that will light and work fine maybe a day or two or only five min. The Pilot will sound like wind coming throught it and the flame will only be burning toward the end and then there will be no flame on the Therm-coup and the heater will shut off. What would cause something like that?
Thanks, JaY

Either it is not getting enough fuel to keep the thermocouple hot or the thermocouple is failing.

What makes the flame and pilot goes out about five minutes

wind, if there is any wind getting in your flu it will blow out your pilot light
which heats the thermo coupling and keeps your gas valve open its a safety device so if pilot blows out gas valve shuts down so as not to leak gas hopes this helps

Williams debonair wall heater + pilot light problems

THE flame from the pilot should shoot past the thermo-couple and heat this up and make a small amount of mili- amps to prove the pilot light is lit. ..So if the flame doesn,t go past the thermo-couple it won, make mili-amps or its tme to change out the thermo-couple, They only cost lest than $8:00 and you can change it!

Charm glow gas heater won't stay lit changed thermocouple and it worked for 2 days

Dust build up inside the pilot light burner assembly. A clean pilot makes noise and has a blue flame when it is burning. A dirty pilot has a quiet and smaller flame with an orange tip.
