After dual boot vista ,xp sound not coming in compaq v6700 laptop
I have hp compaq v6700 intel core 2 duo with vista installed.after i dual boot with xp sp2 sound not coming even after downloading&installing sound driver from hp website.it uses realtek high definition audio

I think this is just a matter of updating your driver
if your system came with vista your sound may not be compatible but there are ways to make it work
try the update driver first
and make sure your system picked up the soundcard after you installed xp
it a bios problem there are many people trying the same thing, you may need to reinstall Vista first again if you cannot get the drive to format, see below
Post the laptop model no and make so I can send you all the detail. you can download and install it. change the harddisk with greater space there shouldn't be any challenge on it. But you can't upgraid your cpu with duo core cpu.
