Do others with this problem have their small top corner fans working
correctly? Is there a way to set these to run continuously since this
may be related to a heat related problem (green/grey sparkling on top 1/3 of screen) with the display due to heat
    build up.

Call up the 'Integration Menu" - the fans can be switched between 'auto' and 'full speed'.

To do this switch the display into standby. If the standby light flashes 4 times it is indicating a fault in the Thermal Sensor Assembly which will explain why your fans aren't working. With the display in standby press the menu button and within 3 seconds press the power button. The display will turn on with the integration menu. Select the option tab and scroll down until you see 'fan control' - press 'set' to toggle between 'auto' and 'max'. When you select 'max' the fans will run at full speed within a few seconds. The fans are a bit noisey at full speed so you may want to look into replacing the sensor eventually.

Trying to figure out the voltage for power supply on a pdp-503cmx and cant figure it out i think it is supposed to be at 250v but i only get 122v not sure i need help!!

It sounds like you have the notorious Pioneer power supply issue. Pioneer had been replacing these free of charge. You can contact Pioneer and attempt to schedule an in home swap free of charge. While the 503CMX was on the recall list, i think the warranty extension has expired on all affected models but it won't hurt to call Pioneer and ask if they'll pay for the repair........

I heard a pop from my tv and then the tv didn't work

Anything is repairable as long as the screen isn't damaged.
The sound you heard is most likely was a capacitor that just went dead.
Solder in a new capacitor should fix the problem. It would most likely be on the power supply board somewhere.

You'll need the Service Manual for parts list, diagrams, and schematics. Here's one place for that:

Any other questions just ask.

Green spots/pixels at top of TV screen

I have a 50" Pioneer PDP-503MXE with the same problem - the fans don't run. It appears to be a problem with the temperature sensor that controls the fan speed. However, the fans can manually be switched to MAX.
To do this, put the display in standby. Press the 'Menu' button and within 3 seconds press the 'Power/Standby' button. The 'Integration Menu' will appear. Select the 'Option' tab on the right. Scroll down (next page) to the 'Fan Control' option. It will most likely be set to 'Auto'. Press 'Set' to change it to 'Max'. Within a few seconds the fans will run.
At Max the fans are a bit noisey but it will cool the unit down.
