Customize profile Silent : select ring tone which ever you want and select Volume and activate the profile

then check keypad sounds or coming or not.

I just want to stop the keys making a noise when I text

Hi there!
If you're hearing a noise or a tone whenever you text then ill be advising you to check the tone settings on your phone. It might be that the KEYPAD TONE in your phone is enabled.
If you want to adjust the volume of youe keypad tone then you can just go to SETTINGS.And after that please go to TONES/TONE SETTINGS and kindly look for KEYPAD TONE.You can lower down or turn off the volume of the keypad tone on that option. If you have another kind of phone then you can try looking for small buttons on the side of the phone. You can press the "Down" button to lower the key volume. Please press it repeatedly to continue lowering the volume. Press "Up" button if you decide to turn the key tones back on.

Just got a Samsung g600, Under settingd I dont have 'sound settings' as with previous samsung fone. This means that I cannot assign a ring tone for text messages I cant find any way to do this. I also...

Hi, for anyone still having this problem with the newer Samsung phones, I just solved the issue I posted up earlier.

To disable keypad tones, but keep your ringtone etc active, go to Profiles -> edit your 'Normal' profile.
Press right on the selection pad twice to get to phone-related settings. Scroll down to the bottom of that page of settings to the 'Phone sound volume' option, select it and adjust it to zero.

This will turn off all keypad noises and other irritating beeps while not actually turning your phone on to 'silent mode', which would disable your ringtone etc.

Hope this helps, I know I was going insane with this phone until I figured out how to turn those sounds off.
