Unfortunately the warranty will be the issue here if you have 2 yrs. warranty, you can have a free service otherwise, you'll have to pay

I AM REPLACEING THE VIDEO CARD NEED TO NO WITCH ONE TP DISABLE BEFORE I REMOVE THE VIDEO CARD TO INSTALL THE NEW ONE

Before disabling the video card, restart the computer and enter the BIOS settings. Often there is also a setting in BIOS on newer boards that allows the user to set either a PCI card or AGP card as the primary video device. Make sure this is set to your video card, which in your case would be PCI-E Automatic. Power down the computer, plug the VGI cable into the new graphics card and turn the computer on. You should be up and running in a matter of seconds. If you don't have video, turn the computer off by holding the power button in until the computer shuts down. Remove the new card and return VGI cable to original location. Restart the computer and use the driver installation disk that came with the new card. Install the drivers. Shut down the computer and try again with the new card.
NOTE: With the BIOS settings to PCI-E Automatic, the computer will check if a card is installed in the PCI-E slot before going to the integrated graphics. Do not remove the drivers for the integrated graphics, you may need to reuse it at a later time.

Hi

I'm not sure what you mean by VGI. I will assume you mean VGA (Analogue - D Shaped with 15 pinholes).

When pixels or line of lixels fail on a monitor, they usually fail in spots or in a vertical lines due to the design of the matrix.

Since both monitors are sharing a single cable and the graphics card is a new one, the fault automatically isolates itself to either the monitor or its VGA connector.

Check that none of the pins in the end that connects to the faulty monitor are bent and/or touching one another and shorting.

Then try changing the resolution of the graphics card itself and test the monitor's performance at various settings to see if the resolution seeting is straining against the limits of the monitors range.

Right click on open space in the desktop > properties > settings > click and hold the slider scale step by step, up and down the scaled to test the monitor > apply > ok > test for a reasonable period > reset.

Also test the monitor with a single VGA cable to another computer (even a laptop, using the Fn key + external monitor function key).

Thses tests should tell you if the monitor is failing.

I hope this helps.

I have a hp pavilion a177c desktop. i opened the case to replace the SATA harddrive and SATA dvd rom and cmos battery. also cleaned out all the dust i could see(which was almost none). after hooking...

You don't say how you cleaned the motherboard. It only takes a small knock or static spark to kill electronics. PCI and I/O control is done by a chip on the motherboard and if this is fried you will need a new motherboard. The only way to check is with specialist hardware. take it to a computer repair specialist ( not PC world- too expensive) the cmos battery shouldn't have needed replacement after a maximum of 5 years. I have batteries that have lasted over 20 years. incidentally if you have replaced the cmos battery you would have to setup the bios again anyway.

How do i replace the graphics card/ motherboard in my hp G60-121WM. Need disassembly steps

1 . Before beginning any work on your computer, be sure to turn it completely off and then remove all connected cords or cables.

2 . To get to the old graphics card the side panel of your computer's case must be removed. Most cases will have two screws that must be taken out at the top and bottom of the panel. Some cases will alternately have a twist off knob on the side instead of screws that simply needs to be turned several times until the panel slides off.

3 . Once the panel is removed it is time to take out the old graphics card. The card will typically be held in place by a single screw connected to the case. Remove this screw and then simply pull the card straight out.

4 . The new card is installed easily by pushing it into the correct slot on your motherboard and then putting the screw back in place. Depending on your motherboard, the card will either be connected to a PCI, PCI Express, or AGP card slot. The slots do not change the way that the card is installed, but it is important to make sure you have the correct type of card for the correct slot. A PCI card will not fit in an AGP slot and vice versa.

5 . Place the side panel back on your computer's case and re-attach the screws or turn the twist knob until snug. Plug back in any cords or cables that were removed and power your computer back on.

6 . A new graphics card will need to have drivers installed so that it works properly with your operating system. If your graphics card came with a CD, insert the CD into your computer and follow the on screen prompts to install the software. If your graphics card did not come with a CD then Windows may prompt you automatically to search for drivers to install

Hope the above information will be helpful to you.
Thanks.

Hp w1907 monitor not detecting vgi input from original HP x3122 computer

It sounds like your computer has been having some trouble for some time. My hunch is that there is nothing wrong with the monitor at all.

Usually, when you see this warning on the screen that there is no signal, the monitor is trying to tell you that it cannot talk to the computer. This means the computer either a.) will not boot or b.) your video card in the computer has stopped working.

Does your computer make all the usual noises when you start it up? Can you hear the hard drive clicking and the fans come on?

Have you reseated the video connection on the back of the tower?

My guess is that something was going out before and it is now gone. The first place I would look to diagnose this problem is the hard drive.

Hard drives fade to fail sometimes, and when they are fading, the entire computer becomes painfully slow.

Hope this helps
good luck

Hp compaq presario v3000 is not loding the OS, show an error

  • as you boot the computer, start tapping the F8 keys
  • From the boot menu, select Safe Mode
If this seems to work, you can try restoring the computer to an earlier point from Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.
If Safe Mode also fails to load, you would have to check your disk for errors or you may have to install XP all over again.
Please get back, if you need any further help.
