SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do I eliminate buzz?

Things to check:
1. With your multi meter, measure from left ground to right ground. What do you get? Measure from each input ground to chassis. What do you get there.

2. Get or make a pair of shorting plugs. Plug those into the inputs. Power on. Hum there or gone?

3. Turn the pre-amp on. Connect. Level of hum change with preamp on?

4 additional information. How efficient are your speakers? This is a big amp, high-efficiency speakers may show some noise, while low-efficiency speakers won't.

A trip back to the shop may be indicated, too.

I want to bridge 2 adcom GFA 555 amps to my sony DA7ES any suggestions

Obviously you are going to use the Front pre-out's on the Sony to drive the Adcoms. its pretty straightforward, just do not use a speaker that is less than 8 ohms. and make sure that you always have the power switch off on the adcoms, let them sit off for 5 minutes, THEN hit the bridge switch on the back of the adcom's and follow their instructions for bridging. it's pretty easy and tough to go wrong. Good luck...Rob

My adcom 5400 amp is causing distortion in the left and right ouputs. it started doing this the other day after a lot of music playing. i wanna know whats wrong with it

THE AMP HAS 4 FUSES INSIDE, 2 PER CHANNEL. YOU NEED TO CHECK THESE FUSES. BE CAREFULL, HIGH VOLTAGE- UNPLUG POWER CORD AND LET THE AMP STAY FOR COUPLE HOURS. REPLACE ONLY WITH PROPER VALUE FUSES 5AMP. IF BLOWN AGAIN, NO MORE ATTEMPT TO REPLACE - YOU NEED TO SEND IT TO REPAIR FACILITY LIKE THIS

My Adcom GTP 760 Preamp/Processor produces a hum that is affected by the volume control. I think it must be a bad capacitor in the power supply but would like your opinion. I do not have a tech manual...

This is not likely a power supply problem, but is isolated before the pre-amp stage. This can be a defective IC in the preamp stage as well.

Adcom schematics are not generally available, but you may be able to isolate the problem with a little experimentation. Try to run a signal through to see if you can get the signal as well.

Please update this with your results.

Thanks,
Dan

Adcom 7500, Adcom 5400(bi-amp), Marantz AV-9000, Dakiom HA103

Try just the power amp on ..nothing connected
no Dakiom thingy either. It's a matter of elimination. Start at the output device and work back. Keep the Dakiom out of the loop.
If there's hum with just the Adcom..then it's the ADCOM

ADCOM GFA 5802 POWER AMP NO SOUND, BUT POWERS UP.

Remove the output transistors and measure each of the sets of 3 pads and report the voltage readings here. I suspect that you have either a blown driver circuit or output transistors. The voltage readings will give me an idea on where to start looking for specifics.

Thanks,
Dan

Just buy an amp

Yes, -- the GFA555ll is a power amp that needs a pre-amp for control. A good recommendation would be GTP500 pre-amp
