My lifebook e8010 battery indicator blinks trhee times and then shuts off when I connect the battery; just the left most and right most segments .... also it won't run from AC either.

The quickest way is to reboot the machine, sounds like someone held the shift key down and has got locked into sticky keys.

go here pick your 8010 in the E series slot then pick your O/S hope this works

you have to open your laptop or coumputer and take out the rtc battery

Turn on as you did before and leave on for 10 minutes. Then, try turning OFF the computer by keeoing the POWER button pressed for 7 secons. If the computer goes off, then your screen is fried and the computer is actually booting up normally... you just can't see it ;)

That's a spectacularly old laptop, fyi. The video card manufacturer went out of business a decade ago.
