I bought the Yamada DVD 5520 Multi-region DVD Player from amazon.co.uk, I
was so pleased with it I bought another two for the family, it plays
everything I have put in it, good luck.

I was pleased with the Alba from Argos (??37.99) - Plays
DVD/DVD-R/DVR-RW/CD-R/MP3 is multiregion out of the box (at least mine was).
Reasonable picture and reasonable looking
