Home Amp fuse keeps blowing

I have a pioneer home amp and the 6.3 amp 125v fuse keeps blowing. i went to a Electronic store to get some more fuses for it but they didn't have the 125v, but they recommended that the 250v would do the same job. all of those fuses blew as well.

Did you ever figue this out? I have the same problem. I found two bad capacitors on the same board as the fuses and replaced and now at least the relays click over again but the fuses still continue to blow resulting in no soundoutput from the speakers or headphones. blow.

This usually happens when there is a problem with the main power supply and is relatively rare. If you can post the make and model, I can give you some things to check if you are somewhat familiar with electronics.

Thanks,
Dan

Power amp for pa system stopped working

Sounds like you have a power supply problem in the amp. I am assuming the fuse you are replacing is intergraterd into the AC connection. You need to dig deeper. If you are not an electronics person you will need a tech.

The unit won't power on at all.

You can try replacing it with any 10 amp fuse just to see what happens. If a new fuse keeps blowing out then you have a shorted power amplifier inside(they consist of transistor or a single chip). These device look normal most of the time short out with any visual indication. If you desolder the power amp chips(they are mounted against an aluminum heat sink to dissipate heat) and the fuse quit blowing then it is the problem.

Coleman evcon air unit keeps blowing the three amp fuse

BEWARE OF HIGH VOLTAGE! 220VAC CAN KILL YOU! That said, it sounds like you have a short in the control (24VAC) curcuit to the condenser. A mouse probably made a home in the control compartment of your condenser. BEWARE OF HIGH VOLTAGE! 220VAC CAN KILL YOU!

Keep blowing fuse under hood when i put power wire in to amp

disconnect the negative battery terminal, replace the fuse with all the wires hooked up to the amp and reconnect the battery terminal, that way the initial surge of power goes through the negative terminal and not your inline fuse. That should solve your problem.
