Looking for windows 7 driver for canascan n640p

Hi Nubi ,
There is no direct solution since Canon doesn't support your device under Windows 7 .
You can install a virtual version of Xp on your machine with http://download.cnet.com/VMware-Player/3000-2094_4-10470784.html or via Microsoft if you are using Ultimate or Professional .
Otherwise , you will need to purchase a replacement device compatible with Windows 7 .

Hi. I hope this can still help. My PC runs on Windows 7 and my scanner is CanoScan N 640P ex 1. Enter your BIOS (hit "del" during start-up). Look for Port Settings and change it from ECP to BI-DIRECTIONALLY. Save & Exit. Turn Off PC. 2. While PC is off connect scanner parallel port wire 3. Go to: http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0900326001.html Download the software to your Desktop 4. Once downloaded the name of the file is SCCSP382WNEN. Right click on the icon (looks like a tiny microwave) and click Properties then click Compatibility tab then check Run this program in compatibility mode for (Choose Windows 2000) then click Change settings for all users. Again check Run this.. Apply & Save. Run this software and it will extract into a folder with same file name: SCCSP382WNEN. Open the folder and look for DISK1 folder, inside DISK1 folder right click on SET UP (size is 59 KB) and do the same thing: properties then compatibility, still windows 2000. Run Set-Up. After installation re-start computer. 5. Go to Start => All Programs = > CanoCraft CS-P 3.8 (right click on it) same thing: properties => compatibility (still select windows 2000) 6. Program will open and it will calibrate your scanner and will finally scan pictures and documents
Easy right? Windows, after all, still supports program that no longer have driver support for vista and 7

Canon do not supply a Driver for Windows 7 for their Canoscan N640P Scanner Help Please

What you need to do is run the driver setup in windows XP compatibility mode.
Right click on the setup icon, select properties, compatibilities tab then select Windows XP SP3 (or some older version of Windows.
Then left click on the "Change settings for all users" button and from the new window select again XP service pack 3 compatibility and check the "Run this program as an administrator". Click OK and then run the setup application.
It worked for me on Windows 7 ultimate.

please the old scaner programmi is unstoll and you go a run and add a scaner progremme cd instolldrriver orignal and start the scaner is on
just you used the window xp if fouto didate and give a usb cable and use a scaner

Dear Hiraimport,

I have looked for the driver. I found one on the Australian website from Canon. On the USA site there are only drivers for the N650U or higher models.
