You can create a program in the calc, called it "Pers. Info" or something like that. This is very easy, try something like:

Disp "Your Name"
Disp "Your Number"
Disp "Your Address"
etc

The Disp function is found by pressing [PRGM] [►] [3].

When you run the prog it will display all your info on the screen.

Also if you want to keep the info partially hidden, just type it in plain text in the program (without Disp). When a user tries to run the prog, it will fail because it is not written properly. Then you can access the info by simply "editing" the program.

Is there a convertor so I can use my TI-83 Plus wich normaly connect with seralcable, so i can use usb-cable insteed ?

There is another cable made by TI. It is called the TI usb Silver Cable. One end of it goes into the TI83Plus IO port (round one) and the other end goes into a USB port on the computer side. You will also need the TI Connect software, which you can download from education.ti.com. Foe the TI USB Silver cable, go to the TI online store, select the calculator family (TI83/TI84 Plus) then accessories.
Here is the link. The cable is about 20 dollars.

What is the different between ti-86 and ti-83

The 86 has more memory. It also has some advanced calculus capabilities the 83 doesn't. However you're much more likely to see examples for the 83 in textbooks and other references.

My TI-83 Plus is only showing a bunch of scrambled symbols when I turn it on. I have tried changing the batteries and nothing happens

I'm no expert with the TI-83, but generally when any computer does stuff like that, it's because the boot code is toast.

You can try hard resetting it and reinstalling the built in software. If you have anything stored on it, you will lose it. The instructions are here: http://www.ehow.com/how_5121373_reset-ti-plus-calculator.html

Failing that, you may be able to fix it by taking it apart, cleaning all the connections, and putting it back together.

TI-83 Plus Silver Edition Calculator: how do you up load to 1.19 if i have a 1.13...

Use the TIconnect software to connect the calculator to a computer. Run the TIconnect software.

In the TIconnect main window click the button "TI Device Info". This will retieve the device info from the calculator. If this operation is successful, click the button "Udpdates." Then unselect all options in the subsequent popup window to leave only The OS

TI 83 Plus won't turn on after battery change

I was having the same problem...I found the info below on another blog and it helped me fix my calculator problem. Take out all the batteries, hold the DEL button and put the batteries back in (keep holding the DEL button until all batteries are put back in). This will restart the calculator and restore it to its default settings...but it makes it work again!

"Reflashing the OS is probably the thing to do now. I think there's some trick that throws the calc into OS receiving mode. Hold down DEL while putting the batteries in? I don't remember if that's it. Go to 1-800-TI-CARES/ti-cares@ti.com if you need specifics on getting the calc to take an OS upload given the state it's in."

Graphing calculator help

The cord that comes with the TI-83 Plus is a unit-to-unit link cable. It allows you to share data from one TI-83 (or other compatible TI calculator) to another. If you have the optional TI-GRAPH LINK adapter cable and the appropriate software it can also be connected to a PC.

For more info, here is the link to the manual. Chapter 19 discusses it in great detail.

Hope this helps..and good luck!
