IT7 Max2 V2 Temps!

By Cato - usenet poster

Ok, as most of you prabally know this mobo has temp sensors problems,
and has been posted a ton of times in abit's ofical forum. And I can
back this up. My idle temp is 50C, which is just wack...I placed a
sensor underneath my CPU and the temp reads 32C. And yes I have proper
case coolig. 7 Case fans, 1 fan on HD, one slot slot exahsut fan.
Moded Chipset fan, CPU Fan= Thermaltake Spark 7 (53 CFM). Then 2 fans
in my Enermax BlueDiamond 460 watt Series PSU. 13/14 fans in in
totalAnd all of this in a roomy Alumiunum Thermaltake Xaser 3
case. Im not a newbie, please don't say it has something to do with my
hardware. I have nothing but brand name shit in her, Ex, Corrair,
Enermax, ATI, WD, etcAnd I know what im doing

This has been issue as been posted and disccussed alot of times in
abits forum's. And i'm asking if some one has a fix for this? Moded
Bios? Or anything else..?

Thanks.

There is no official Abit presence in this Newsgroup. As
a result, the *only* place that Abit make announcements
about their products is in their own forums on the Abit
Website.

See the Abit forums at: #

Under the Intel Chipset Socket 478 topic, you will find
several threads about temperature problems with the BE7,
the BH7 and the IC7/IC7-G.

One of those threads with the topic "Bad Temp Sensor on
BE7" contains a set of posts to/from Abit Marketing about
this very topic.

An acknowledgement of the problem and a reply from Abit
marketing includes comments about other motherboard
models as well.

Since the problem occurs across a wide range of different
Abit motherboards, it's obviously something basic in the
fundamental BIOS code used for the hardware monitoring
on many different Abit motherboards.

This means a thorough review of the foundation BIOS
code *may* be required -- so there's no guarantee of a
"quick fix".

Furthermore, once the appropriate fixes have been
developed, it may take a while to roll out the changes
through all the various Abit motherboard models.

Note: No further discussion on this topic will be
forthcoming from me unless there is substantial
delay on the rollout.

As far as I'm concerned right now, It's being handled.

Consequently, I am letting the solution-providers do
their job -- and staying out of their way while they do.

Were have they said that the acknowledged this problem?
I want to see their postings.
And when did they say it?

I remember something being said like this a couple month back, and
Abit has made new Bios's for this mobo and no temp fixes.

The fix is a BIOS modification to correct the high readings.

Abit are aware of the problem and have finally said they're
going to do something to solve this problem for all of us
with the various motherboards that suffer from temperature
readings that show as higher than actually present.

For now, we wait. Abit has tentatively promised they'll
incorporate the temp fixes in the next major round of BIOS
updates.

Best I can do for now. <tm
