About the only thing I can recomend is make sure all connections are tight inside, because the most common thing to cause random resets is if a cable is loose, and the vibration causes it to make intermittent connection, shorting out and resetting.

Seriously, one in three dies under warranty. Call microsoft and complain, they will be good to you. They might even let you keep your old hard drive.

Part of the outer ring is coloured red and the game wont work

Yikes! red ring is not good, if the whole ring is red you need to check your AV cables, three sections is the Red Ring of Death and you need to send your Xbox in for repairs(http://support.xbox.com/en-us/pages/xbox-360/troubleshoot/flashinglights.aspx). Off the top of my head I can't remember what the two or one red sections mean, I do know their not as serious as the three. my girlfriends freezes from time to time and red rings, but when we restart her system it all goes away (sometimes it still jams at the Xbox load screen)

Why does my xbox 360 kepps freezing when i play games?

360's tend to lock up before the "red rings of death". You get this when the system overheats and has problems with the solder coming loose. Mine took a little over a weak before it got the red rings after it kept freezing after a few min.'s of playing.

It could be overheating because the fan is not getting enough air out. try cleaning the console itself outside and using can of compressed air to get any buildup in the vent holes and fan cleared. There are a few FAQS on this site to learn about a few tricks.

feel free to comment if you have any questions. Hope this helped and remember you have a three year waranty on your xbox for the red ring and E74 error!

3 rings of death turned to 2 rings. xbox 360 NEED SUGGESTIONS

you probably did something to where you messed up your xbox motherboard, making it (after less then a minute of power) get short circuited and power fails. i would recommend getting it repaired by microsoft if you have a warranty.

I keep getting three red rings in the part where it shows how may controllers are playing and i can't get any of my games to play or my controllers to work

Three lights flash red on the Ring of Light (RoL) on the front of your Xbox 360 console. The upper-right quadrant light is the only light that does not flash red. The three flashing red lights may indicate that there is a hardware problem with your Xbox 360 console.

You can try one or two things.

1. Turn on your xbox and check to see if the power supply light is green. If it is green there is a problem with the system. If it is red it means you should check your connections and restart the xbox.

2. These rings have a tendency of meaning that there is a problem with the system itself. Most companies sell extra insurance to cover this "ROL" Ring of life. You can contact Microsoft by calling them. The number is usually listed on the back of the video game booklets.

I wish you the best and I hope this resolved your problem

Ring of death on 360

This means the system has overheated and now you have bad solder joints near the processor and the memory. There are fixes however most require you to overheat the unit again to reflow the solder joints. Contact Microsoft as they will very likely replace the unit if it's never been opened up for repairs.

Won't load game keeps blinkng red light

If the XBOX 360 is blinking the color RED in three of the four quarter of the ring around the power button, you will have to contact Microsoft for a replacement. This is what is known as "Red Ring of Death." You can find plenty of information on it if you Google it.

Click HERE for a video of the Red Ring of Death.

Click HERE for Microsoft's support system for the XBOX 360 and get in touch with Microsoft to get your replacement started.

It's the ONLY way.

Good luck.
