Question about Philips Sport Personal CD/MP3 Player

1 Answer

Need GoGear 1 GB MP3 player instructions

I bought it last year and downloaded two CDs of bird songs onto it. I then packed to move, but our move has been delayed. I lost track of the instructions and just now when I tried to download more onto the GoGear, when I turned it on and plugged it into my HP Pavilion, nothing happened.
I'm using the cable with the greenish plugs-which I thought was the same cable I used before, but there's no response in my computer.

The manual is available from Philips website. I can't give you an exact link, because there are dozens of 1GB GoGear's.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Not play all cds

It says online that it only plays the file types: .WMA and .MP3 If they are different then the ones listed here when you put your CD into your computer (explore the disk to view the files), then chances are they are incompatible. A solution would be to:
1.) Use a different media device (mp3 player, etc...)
2.) You can download the songs (as long as you have the original disk legally), make sure they are either WMA or MP3 files and reburn them.

Hope I answered you question! :)

Phillips mp3 player froze up on the gogear screen.

Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

Down loas music

This is an "Mp3-CD player," which is not the same as an "Mp3 player." This device will only play mp3 songs that are recorded onto a CD in audio format. It will not take songs from iTunes, etc. By the way, iTunes songs are AAC format, rather than Mp3 format, so you can't just burn iTunes songs onto a CD and expect it to work with this player either. Sorry.

Mp3 player wont play music, says file not formated

The file not formatted message is not an error that a repair will fix.
The songs that you have loaded onto the player are in a format that the player does not support. Do yourself a favor, and only download files that rae in mp3 format - they will never give you problems, error messages, require long explanations, etc.
