F1 is the fault code for a bad EOC (electronic oven controller). The unit can be repaired

What does it mean for screen to flash f1

Hello friend, thanks for your post!

From my understanding your Frigidaire range is displaying an "F1" error code. "F1" typically means that your wall oven has detected an issue with the runaway temperature (overheating). Sometimes resetting your appliance can correct this issue but in the case that it does not and you still receive that error code I would recommend having a professional come out to properly diagnose and repair. At that time you could be having an issue within RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) sensor probe or the EOC (Electronic Oven Control) having a professional come out would reduce the cost of unnecessary parts. Hopefully this has been helpful. -Matt

What does the error code F1 E1 mean and how can i fix it

Hi.

F1 - E1 means: EEPROM Checksum error. The EEPROM is a memory chip located in the ERC (control module). The problem is communication error with the EEPROM

1. Disconnect power for at least 30 seconds.
2. Re-apply power and observe for at least one minute.
3. If code re-appears, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).

Note: Applies to all F1-Ex codes except F1-E3.

Regards.

Self cleaner will not stop - cannot open door "F1"

F1 on this unit means that the door latch and or the controller has failed.... you sometimes can turn the breaker off to unit and turn back on and it willl reset... most likely though it will require replaceing the control board... these units get so hot on self clean and as a servicer it is what keeps us busy.... f1 can mean three things a bad door latch mechanism, bad control board or the ribbon cable on the touch pad itself has failed and requires replacement of the touch pad... most of the time it ends up being the control itself and some of these models when you order the control it comes with a new door latch mechanism... turn power off and try that first if no cure then order parts from appliance repair or a reputable online store like
www.sears.com then hit the parts direct link up top of page and enter your model number

What does an F1 fault indicate

MAYTAG
Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes Failure
Code
Condition Check/Repair F1 Defective touch pad or membrane Replace touch pad or membrane (usually the touch pad)* F1 Watchdog on board Replace touch pad or clock assembly (also called the ERC) F2 Oven too hot Replace relay board (if present) or bad oven temperature sensor F3 or F4 Open or shorted oven temperature sensor Replace oven temperature sensor F5 Hardware and watchdog circuits disagree Replace clock assembly (also called the ERC) F6 Missing AC signal Check for proper voltage F7 Function key shorted or stuck button Replace touch pad or clock assembly (also called the ERC) or un-stick button F8 Analog/Digital supervisory Replace clock assembly (also called the ERC) F9 Door latch supervisory Check door lock circuit or replace clock assembly (also called the ERC) F0 Function key stuck Replace touch pad or clock assembly (also called the ERC) * Here is a simple test that you can do to determine whether the clock or the touchpad are defective when the display reads F1:

- Disconnect power to the range.
- Gain access to the back of the ERC (electronic range control, or "clock").
- Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire about 1 ½" to 2" wide.
- Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on. Replace any covers removed to gain access to the ERC.
- Turn the power back on to the range.
- Watch for the F-1 and listen for the beep.
- If you get the F-1 and beep, replace the ERC.
- If after approximately 60 Minutes you do not get the F-1 fault, replace the touch pad.

NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock control as one part so F1 = bad clock control.

Warning: If you do not feel comfortable doing this test or making this repair please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

What does the F1 alert mean?

Hello jiverson,
Welcome,

You said, your get a recurring F1 beep even after I press "cancel" I worked with the oven for about 2 hours trying various combos of opening the oven, pressing cancel and trying to perform various functions (light, clean, bake, broil, etc.) to no avail. I got it to stop for about an hour at one point, but it started right back up again. It also seems that every now and then the oven light will come on all by itself during one fo these alerts

Please send me your complete model number including the single diget at the end of the model number.
For example: FGB24S5AW1
Then I can be sure!!!!!!!!!!!
Waiting your response. I'll check for it through out the day!
And get back to you as fats as possible so you can take care of it Monday!

Huuum

In some ovens It could be failure of your, EOC (Electronic Oven Control) failure

What does F1 mean on the magic chef oven?

The f1 error means the something may be wrong with the touch pad on the oven

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error code is present.

Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC (Clock).

Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing.

2. Gain access inside the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.
4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound).
7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.
