Just wondering if anyone out there has heard and compared the
different lines of JL subs. I am looking to get a pair to be powered by a
sony XPlod xm-2252HX (225W by 2 at 4 ohm). I want tight moderately loud
bass but the JL W6's seem kind of expensive (i am guessing they are their
top line). Are they worth it or are many of you using the W3's or one of
the other lines? Any suggestions about which set to get is appreciated!!
Thanks, John

How do you know if something will sound good in your particualer design.
Kinda hard to audition a speaker in your car in my part of town. JL makes an
all around good sub and should be considered by anyone who has to ask advice
on a sub preference question

Why does it have to be JL? Go listen to a bunch of subs, then buy the
one that you think sounds best. If you think JL sounds best, then by
all means, get all the W3's or W6's you can afford. But don't buy their
product because you think everybody else does.

I use a 12w3 d2 at 2 ohms on an Alpine Mrv-f1005 {100 watts per channel at 4
ohms}. Also have the amp bridged and it rocks. Still tinkering with
enclosure design as mine tends to be too boomy.
They are.
Are they worth it or are many of you using the W3's or one of
Some people swear by the w6's but remember they are 6 ohm subs. Im assuming
you would wire them for a 3 ohm load. If you get 2 w3 d4's you could get a
2 ohm load to really crank some watts. Im no expert, and maybe someone can
correct me if im wrong. Just be nice. (Lizard,Alt) he he.
No Problem
