I've run into this before and in fact is a problem with Mitsubishi TVs going back a few years. When the green LED blinks, its indicating that the TV is reading its software. It must complete this function before the TV can be turned on. I've had many of these sets do this. Its likely a problem with the "DM" board or possibly the power supply board. In either case, it can be quite expensive to service. You should contact Mits even if your TV is out of warranty. Sometimes manufacturers will do the right thing and help when a customer is facing a serious repair cost.

Just replaced lamp/housing and now tv turns off after 2 minutes of being on. Green light flashes continually(about 30 sec.) then tv turns back on and the cycle continues. The tv is a sony bravia...

Strange situation, have you tried unplugging it for a few minutes and letting the TV cool. I have a older 2006 Sony SXRD rear projection and it takes forever to turn back on if you shut it off then turn it back on. Check this link and maybe its giving you a blinking code. Try counting the number of blinks. Hope this helps.

This problems, very common in LCD tv,after the tv was in used about a year or two.The new technalogy LCD tv don't handle heat very well, not like the old CRT Tube Tvs.The power supply board tend to have bad capacitors componnents leakage, that bulges up it top or puff up gases escape, that why it take times or couples pushes to the power botton to turn the tv on.U know basic electronic's,and have soldering tools and solders?Take the tv aparts, check for these bad capacitors, that bulges, puff up in the power supply board and replaced them, than ur power will work normal again.Or tries Websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

LG 47" TV takes about an hour to turn on. When you try to turn it on the light flashes green and red.

This means that the bulb is bad, and is taking forever to heat up. You need to get the bulb replaced to fix it.

I turned on the TV but just got a black screen but could hear audio just fine. Turned the set off and unplugged it. When I plugged it back in the green timer light started flashing and would not stop...

Nonstop blinking is likely a DM or format board - format board most likely. I have rebuilt several of these by simply replacing all the caps, about 70 of them, and takes about two hours start to finish... But this set does need to boot. It takes about 70 seconds of flashing green light before you're able to press the power button - even when everthing is working as it should..
Hope this helps!

Green flashes then tv turns off

or a new lamp. you could first replace the lamp.
the screen might work fine for a couple of seconds, but then it fades away or deteriorates. This means the lamp is going bad.
