Question about E-Machines T2742 PC Desktop
I am ArmyMason. Sounds to me you are getting a BSOD. This is most likely a hardware issue and I would look at downloading a "free Hardware Diagnostic testing software", (Google it). Their are many out there and some are better than others. If you can't find anything I would suggest starting with the RAM, remove a chip and try install, if that doesnt work try the other chip. Also try and remove unnessassary hardware like extra video card, NIC, Modem, or any other thing that could conflict with the installation. Best bet is to burn a bootable CD Hardware diagnostic tester and run it to find the issue.

Tips for a great answer:
Dec 23, 2010 | Whirlpool Calypso GVW9959K Top Load Washer
during the boot up process for a short time you will see a certain key to enter set up
press that key to enter BIOS scroll to PnP/PCI configurations the default is disabled
select enabled to reset configuration if you have installed a new add on and it has caused a serious conflict that the operating system can not boot
start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to fix any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive
hope this helps
