Unable to Delete Files. Possible Virus?

I don't know. I might have downloaded a possible virus from within an MP3 file.

I want to try and format or delete all the files on it so i can fix the problem, but i can't do either, and i just get this....

"Error Deleting File:

[File Name] could not be deleted. The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected."

I followed all the basic procedures on how to solve this problem if there wasn't a virus problem, but this keeps coming up. I even added a file, unplugged it, plugged it back in, and was fully capable of deleting the file i recently added. The files are song files, but they play perfectly fine even though they won't delete. But when i go to check what files they are, they're blank files, meaning that its not being stated as an MP3 file, Word File, WAV, anything. Its just one of those blank file things.

Any assistance on how i can fix this? Or is my MP3 player straight up fucked? <_<

Olol, it seems that after three weeks of waiting to fix it, it managed to finally give up and was allowed to format XD

It would seem that this is no longer a problem, so... this is done i suppose XD

So to speak, i couldn't format or do anything to delete the files on it the first couple of days, i gave up. Then, i came here, then went and started tinkering around with it a little bit, then managed to be able to format it X3

My digital music player nwz-b135f give me boot error then became shudown what is the prolem and how i can solve it plz help me

Please check and see if the player can be reset using the reset micro switch. If not connect to the PC and see if this is detected , if not the player memory can be corrupt, it is possible that there are corrupt files- virus- within the memory and so it is hanging up the player. You can download and scan for virus in your PC, now format and reload only with safe scanned files.
Hope you check this out.

File system error

Possible there was corrupt files downloaded to the player and so the system has hing up. It will be best to RESET the player, check for the reset button to reset. If not connect to the PC and format the memory after scanning for virus. Remove needed files before all the files are deleted.

Zen cannot turn on

Possible battery is low or the player has hung up . Try to reset or connect to the PC and determine the memory status and the files present. if the files contain virus or are corrupt then it will be good to remove and format before you load all the safe files in the recommended format.

You will need to open up the files and folders using the computer.
Follow these directions and locate the virus for removal.
DO NOT REMOVE YOUR OPERATING FILES NEEDED TO OPERATE YOUR MP3 PLAYER
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Deleting Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio Books, etc. from MP3 Player
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal
Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on
"Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that
you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want,
release, right click and then click on "Delete"
Now your mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
BE CAREFUL AND DO NOT DELETE FILES NEEDED TO OPERATE YOUR MP3 PLAYER.

Try deleting the virus and the files this way...just be sure not to delete the operating files to operate the pendrive:

Won't play all songs

Possible that the files have been saved inthe wrong way. If you have them again in the PC , delete off all the files you had sent, format th device or erase off all files, scan for any virus in the device before loading back the music files with the PROPER METHOD OF COPY AND SAVE, USE THE RECOGNISED PROGRAM for the ipod- the ones the songs are playing presently. Helpful? good day

How to remove a virus??

One thing you can do is connect the mp3 player and right click on the icon, when the menu appears click on scan with: (antivirus) and let the scanner run all the way, it will show the infected files, go ahead and remove them. Sometimes the auto start file is detected as a virus because it is an executable file.
the other way is for you to format the mp3 player, same way right click on the icon and select format. with this you have to be careful because sometimes the firmware is hard to reinstall on the device.

if it works for you, don't forget to rate me

dmerunka,

hi, just want to ask if, before you've dowloaded song to your mp3 have you scan it for possible virus? it's adviceable to scan 1st all dowloaded song before transferring to mp3 player for some of it have imbeded malware and virus. most common virus is the brontok which will freeze your played files then shut it off.

try to download " ESET nod32" anti virus and scan your mp3 for possible virus infection. NOD32 have a free trial and can still work even if the trial period expired.

cheers,
mark
