Ok, I'm assuming it's a T.B.I. Make sure the key is OFF!! Remove the air cleaner assembly.Or disconnect the battery altogether to be safe.Open the gas cap. Use a 20mm on the main fuel line to the throttle body ( the biggest line, usually driver's side), just hold that though, don't torque on it. At the same time use a 19mm on the nut going into the fitting you're holding with the 20mm. Crack the nut loose, using the 20mm to keep the larger nut from turning out of the throttle body. Remember, "righty tighty, lefty loosey". Just crack it loose until gas flows, btw you do this step with the engine cold & a rag under what your doing. This releaves the pressure that may be in the line. I just watch my eyes, but you may want goggles or a clear mask,I got 17+ years experience,so use proper caution if this is the first time. Ok,the fun begins, on top of the injector's (should have 2) grip the top of the plug & squeeze the clips ( with fingers!!) & pull off the one you want to replace. Most have 2 Torx screws holding them in. You need to buy a set if you don't have them. They look like a "star" & if they have a *** in the middle of them, then you need a tamper proof Torx set. Remove the ones from said injector(s) & remove the aluminum hold down piece. There's a name for it but I'm keeping this simple. Grab the injector you want to change & twist it from side to side while using upward pulling force. All this should be done by hand, but if neccessary, use pliers, gently to help out. Once it's out reverse the procedure. Be sure to use new o-rings where applicable or available & lube them with a little tranny fluid , oil, but no grease or thick stuff! When you're done re-assembling everything, leave the air cleaner off. Close the gas cap, turn the key on,don't start it yet, & look for leaks. No leaks, good to go. Leave the air cleaner off & hood open still & start it up. Re- check for leaks. No leaks then shut it off, put the air cleaner back on & you're done!! Now, keep in mind this system usually has a primary & secondary injector, some have the same on both sides. So make sure that's the problem. In 17 years haven't seen very many bad injectors period. It's usually something else. Hope this helps. Be safe! This is a pressurized fuel system, it will or should spay when you crack that line loose. If it doesn't you have a fuel pump issue or it sat overnight, which is ok. If you have a muti-port injection system,... man that would be so much to type. In that case I would buy a repair guide. That would be the same procedure, but with alot more to do.Good luck!

I have a 1990 Chevy 1500. Have replaced fuel-pump already and it ran great. Now it wont start again. Fuel-pump works, but injectors in throttle-body not injecting fuel. What would cause this?

Leak in fuel line. Put air pressure gauge on rail and crank engine. Should get psi reading. There should be a nipple on fuel rail for testing. If no pressure check for leak

Cutting out stalling have changed ecu, map senor, tps, vaccum hoses, pretty much everything but the fuel pump and injectors 1990 chevy 1500 two wheeel drive

you need to check the fuel pressure when this happens to rule out the fuel pump. What about the ignition module. Have you changed that. If its idling rough you need to ohm the injectors and if possible look at the spray pattern. It should be conical with no dripping or spitting. Both injectors should be about 15 ohms or at least the same plus or minus 2. Get the specs to be sure. Also you may have a weak coil. All these things can cause this problem

Check for any wiring pinch which might have occurred when the injector was replaced. The injector is driven directly by the computer, so it seems to point at the new computer as being faulty. (pulse signal is always 'on')

I had the same problem with my 1990 chevy 1500 (350) replaced the plugs and wires no luck. I replaced the fuel pressure regulator, still no luck. So i called my mechanic he said it would either be the map sensore or the coolant temp sensor. I didnt figure the coolant temp sensor would cause my truck to flood but it was a 17 dollar part so i gave it a shot, took 10 seconds to switch it out with a 19mil deep socket. Truck fired up and ran like a top no more flooding. =)
