Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
There is just a wave going across the screen like when it's loading. But it still shows the date and the wave is moving so it's not frozen and I dont know whats wrong
More than likely your hard drivewas corrupted. The easiest way to fix it is to format the hard drive. There are LOTs of different ways to do this but the easiest way is tojust hook the hard drive to a computer via a usb cable and then formating it through disc manager.
Here's a quick guide:
It doesn't matter what file systemyour choose, just format it, and then pop it back into the PS3. It willrecognise the hard drive as a new drive and then will reformat it againso that the PS3 can read it.
That's it! Problem solved.
The drives are SATA so if you don't have a usb cable you could always throw the drive into a laptop as long as it takes a SATA drive and use an XP or Vista CD and follow the same generall game plan: format the drive
ORyou could swap the drive into someone else's PS3, it will do the sameexact thing. It will recognize it as a new drive and will format it,then just pop it back into your old PS3 and boom. SUCCESS!!!
That's probably the easiest way now that I think about it.
