Hi,
You have bluntly said that the device isn't working but not the exact behaviour. Depending on it, try the following step, and if it works, well and good. Otherwise, let me know what exactly are you trying to do and what exactly happens...
Resetting the player:
1. Slide and hold the Power switch up for approximately 20 seconds.
2. Release the Power switch.
3. Slide the Power switch up then release to turn on the player.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

The player plays but the screen no longer lights up. Can anything be done to fix it?

The screens in Sansa clips use OLEDs (Organic Light Emmitting Diodes). These OLEDs are really good, but they usually have a relatively short life span. Combined with the abuse that most MP3 players go through, and that lifespan gets even shorter. Unfortunately, there's not really much that can be done about it once the screen goes black. Sorry..

The screen is dim it is on the last song played it won't do anything won't turn off but won't play either, It worked fine this morning help please It is a sansa clip 2gb I've had it since Sept. 09

Sansa Clip won't turn off right? push up power button and hold it for 10 to 20 second, your device will turn off now.
After that, you should update your new firmware from sandisk forum, you should check Sansa Clip or Sansa Clip+ from the following web,

Good luck

Using iTune cards for Sansa Clip MP3 Player

Sansa MP3 players will not play iTunes songs. Only iPods play iTune songs. Visit Limewire to download songs that you can play on your MP3 player.
