On my Dometic AC the compressor is only off if turn off the circuit. If the circuit is on the compressor runs, regardless of where I set the thermostat; furnace even and it runs until it trips the circuit. Do I need a new thermostate, it's going to get hot soon?

I have same exact problem. Ac works just fine, except the compressor will not shut off. Only way to shut off compressor is to trip the circuit breaker. I have replaced the board twice now. RV repair said converter bad, replace that also, no change. Wonder if maybe starter unit is stuck somehow? Cannot find anyone who can give an answer to that question. Spent about 400 so far and no better off, probably should have just bought new air cond.

How new are these units? If the thermister fell out of the evaporator the may not shut down. Are you sure the compressor in running and not the fan? 3 issues come to mind. Thermister, control board, wall thermostat.

If I can see or ask questions about the wireing I can help you figure out the next step.

1st what voltage is the thermostat 110 , 24 , other? And where is the thermostat located on the WALL, or on the unit close to the roof?

My Unit is only about 5 years old; but it's working great now. I spoke to a man at an RV service department, he suggest replacing the thermostate and Jay box, which is the box inside my roof unit, accessable when I remove the filter. When I replaced the thermostate nothing changed, but the Jay box did the trick. The Jay Box came with a new thermostate anyway, and cost around $80. Good Luck

Why does the Dometic 15000 BTU RV AC Unit cycle on and off in short bursts?

I had the same problem with my 2013 Alpine! I took it to a Keystone dealer and of course it wouldn't do it for them, so I contacted Dometic 574-294-2511 and asked for Al McGuire! (GREAT GUY) He is the guru of Dometic! I live 50 miles from the nearest dealer and he sent a new pc board AND a new wall thermostat to an appliance repair shop at no cost! "I" replaced them ( 5 minute job) and it has been working fine. I do keep my fingers crossed because the thermostat is terrible to program.

I have a 2005 Pilgram 27 foot 5th wheel. My Duo Therm AC unit makes a ticking sound from the ac unit itself when it's not running. Shutting off the Duo Therm analog thermostat does not stop the ticking...

It's obviously on the 12voltDC circuit of the AC unit. Sounds like thermostat, or a relay in control box is faulty or bad connection. If you remove cover on ceiling assy., you should be able to hear it in the control box. There should be a model number on the ceiling assy., get back to me with that number and I can better pinpoint which relay. Also, try moving all thermostat buttons and temperature controls back and forth quickly to see if it may clean off a dirty circuit in thermostat as well. Make sure your AC hydro breaker is off when working with ceiling assy. just to be safe.

I have a 13500 btu ac dometic penguin model on pan that is old and would like to replace with 15000 btu ac of any other manufacturer or another dometic what are my options ..I do not have ducts and do not...

Your choices are another Dometic or a Coleman
I prefer the Coleman But the amount of extra cooling you will get by stepping up to a 15K unit will probability not be worth the added cost

Dometic ac with atwood 1h2c thermostat will not come back on

Just a guess, as I am not familiar with the solar assist, if the stat is wall mounted I would remove it and verify if there is wither standard batteries, or a "watch" style battery. hope this helps

Penguin Duo therm AC bogs

Try replacing the wall thermostat with an electronic unit. It sounds like it is short cycling. If there is not at least 5 min delay before trying to restart the compressor this is what happens. Most electronic thermostats have a delay feature built in to solve this problem.

Dometic a/c, duotherm thermostat, turns right back on after it reaches desired temperture.

I have a dometic 13500 BTU Roof mount a/c. It is set up with the duo-therm analog thermostat. The system cools fine. The problem is that the a/c gets down to the right temp, then it turns off like it should but turns right back on within a few seconds. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
