You can change the location by setting the Application.LocalUserAppDataPath property when the application starts.

Hope this helps.

Authentication by Face capture by webcam

For you to be able to do this you would need a separate standalone program. Your web application would try to detect if that program is running or installed on your client's computer if it is then your webapplication would send a request to the local application to run the face capture, if not then your webapplication would require the download of the software.

With regard to your local standalone software. you could do that in visual basic. make sure that your standalone code would also be a small webserver.

so what your web application actually does is it sends a request to the localhost or client computer, assuming that the local standalone is present then your webapplication would be able to connect to it through the small webserver. Well, the main point is that the local software would be the control for the webcam and also the means fo communication between it and your web application.

How to create an application which should expire in 30 days

at the time of installation, write down the date in a secret file or database.
each time the application starts check the difference in days from the current date.

each time the application starts save in another place the application last started date.
if the user tries to change the computer date, then you will know if he has set it before the last started date or before the installation date.

There are several progrmming languages that let you write command-line or "console" programs.
Visual Basic: easy to learn for a begginer.
C#: more powerful and scalable.
perl: runs everywhere, Windows, Linux, Mac.

You can download VB 2008 and C# from the microsoft website for free. Either of those will get you started.

Problem in Visual Basic 6.0 application

You need to run your program in debug mode and step through the code one line at a time. Have a look at the values in your variables and see if they mach what you expect.

This is one of the skills of a programmer. When things don't go as expected you need to be able to figure out what went wrong.

If you don't have or can't use a debugger you can create a debug mode in your program perhaps with a command line variable or a value in a config file. When debug mode is turned on your program will output lots of information to a log file with details of module names and variable values. This is also useful if later on a user is having problems you can instruct them to turn on debug mode and send you the output.

Hope this helps.
