Look for a piece of software called "Acer Crystal Eye webcam" in your start menu program list, or in your program files folder. This is a simple photo and video capture program that comes with your laptop. It is very similar to Apple's "Photo Booth" program if your familiar with that.
To start recording a video click on the camcorder icon, to stop click on it again. To take a picture click on the camera icon. All of your saved photos and videos will be displayed in a scrolling menu along the bottom of the program window. To delete a file click on it to highlight and then click the trash can icon. To open a file in a video player or photo view double click it. If you don't have this software I've included a link to download it from cnet.com below.
The Acer Crystal Eye Web Cam automatically integrates itself into whichever program you are using be it an aftermarket video control or Windows Live Messenger or Yahoo Messenger. The only way I know how to bring it up MANUALLY is to go to the Control Panel or your Start menu (in Accessories) and bring up the Scanner & Camera Wizard. When you bring that up, click "Next" and it will start the camera and you will see yourself. When using a program like Windows Live Messenger (version 8.5 is the BEST!) you will have to tell the program what source to use for the camera, Your only choice is the Crystal Eye Web Cam unless you have installed a different cam that sits atop your screen, in which case, tell the program to use that one. You might try downloading a program called YAWCAM from the web and installing that. Just do a Google search for it. Give that a try because the Acer web cam doesn't do video with the limited controls in Scanner & Camera Wizard.
"My Computer" is the only way to access it. Not sure why they set it up that way, but they did. Right click it and create shortcut that you can drag to desktop. The camera also does not come with software. It uses windows native control for it. If you you were able to screw up the design of a 300.00 laptop.....they did it with that camera.
yeah sure it is made for that purpose for video conf and picture taking just go to start>all programs>Acer Crystal Eye folder u will find the icon there just make a shortcut from there to ur desktop if u dont find it there then just go to "C:\Windows\Acer Crystal Eye Webcam.exe"
otherwise ur webcam utility is not installed just download the utility from
Import video is only when you have recorded a video using the webcam in a particular format and not on the fly which is what you are trying to do.
Record what you want using another application and the webcam then import the video into movie maker to edit.
Alternatively, I think you need to to go the options screen and select the default audio device. Go to control pannels and see if its there and then select the webcam as the default device for MS applications.
i think you cant use the built in cam from your acer to used for video conferencing using logitect account. but you can disable the built in cam of your acer and install logitect to your acer to continue loging in you logitec account.
