Question about Intel D845EPI (INTELKD845EPILPAK10) Motherboard

1 Answer

D845epi Is frozen on Express BIOS Update

I am updating the bios in this compaq deskpro 6000 p2 with an d845epi intel desktop board. The Express BIOS Update EP20 says that I shouldn't  power off the computer for three minutes, and it rebooted and popped up and says the update is completed, but it's not responding. Should I power it down, or just wait? It's been about ten minutes.

It turns out it was probably related to using USB input devices, as the power button responded. Whew.

HELP

Go to the link below and download & install the latest Bios for your system. I realize that your board is a D915PWK and not a D915PBL, but it should work just fine because the whole Product line of Intel 915 Express Chipset Family Boards use the same Bios for all of their boards and yours is in that product line.

D946gzis bios.bin file i need pls help

Hi,

You need to update your bios interface and to do so, CLICK HERE. It's a PDF file and all you need to do is to click on the 3rd topic which is for the BIOS Update and what you need to do are as follows:

Updating the BIOS with the Intel® Express

BIOS Update Utility

With the Intel Express BIOS Update utility you can update the system BIOS while in

the Windows environment. The BIOS file is included in an automated update utility

that combines the functionality of the Intel® Flash Memory Update Utility and the ease

of use of Windows-based installation wizards.

To update the BIOS with the Intel Express BIOS Update utility:

1. Go to the Intel World Wide Web site:

http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/

2. Navigate to the D946GZIS page, click "[view] Latest BIOS updates," and select the

Express BIOS Update utility file.

3. Download the file to your hard drive. (You can also save this file to a removable

USB device. This is useful if you are updating the BIOS for multiple identical

systems.)

4. Close all other applications. This step is required. Your system will be rebooted at

the last Express BIOS Update window.

5. Double-click the executable file from the location on your hard drive where it was

saved. This runs the update program.

6. Follow the instructions provided in the dialog boxes to complete the BIOS update.

Processor fan speed full on with new motherboard D845EPI

That's probably not the right one.

When you look at the board, locate any model or serial numbers and search it on the internet.

Don't use the express BIOS update. It may have selected the right one.

If you are familar with flashing the BIOS through the command line, do so.

Just make sure to research the BIOS and make sure it is right. Flashing with a wrong one can spell disaster.

If you are unsure and don't want to open up the system again, when the system starts up, one the bottom left hand of the screen is will actually tell you the system BIOS string.

Write the whole set down, you may have to reboot a few times, but that is a way to tell that you have the right one.

Once it's verified, then proceed with a command line flash or, if the express BIOS will recognize that BIOS, then use that one.

Outside of that one, there is nothing else to do.

Intel express bios update error

It sounds like you have a corrupt or wrong bios update version. If the bios update you are trying to flash is not to resolve a problem you are currently trying to overcome, it would be wise to leave it alone. Be careful or you may render your bios completely unusuable.
