Sorry you got infected. Do you remember what was the program you downloaded.
You need to get all the drivers from Dell for your notebook so you can get back on line. Download the video, sound and network drivers, first.

You need to get your system back. Do you have your boot CD. Boot to the CD and reformat your hard drive. Follow the prompts and allow your OS to reload.

Once you get back online you need to get proctected. You need to go to and get the free home edition download and allow it update and register it is good for 14 months.

I hope this helps, please rate and post results if you need more help

You can do a couple of things: you can uninstall the antivirus program (which doesn't sound possible right now) or you can restore your system to the point just before you installed the antivirus program. To do the system restore, go into the system restore either in your control panel (if you have Vista) or in the system tools (if you have XP) and simply restore the computer to the system checkpoint before the antivirus install.

Itunes cannot open . error code is -50. even after reinstalling everything new.

Do you have Norton Security? It could be blocking it.
Uninstall Norton and try AVG antivirus. Norton is a horrible program, I've had bad experiences.
Or disable any antivirus or firewall you have and try running iTunes.
Or try this.
1. Go to Control Panel --> Add or Remove Programs --> iTunes --> Remove
...uninstall the program completely and restart your computer
2. Go to Control Panel --> Add or Remove Programs --> QuickTime --> Remove
...uninstall the program completely and restart your computer
3. Go to My Computer --> Local Disc --> Program Files. Once in Program Files you will see the iTunes and QuickTime folder and you will want to delete the iTunes folder and the QuickTime folder. Right click on the iTunes folder and select delete and confirm the deletion. Do the same for QuickTime.
4. Restart your computer
5. Disable all features of any anti-virus program such as Norton or McAfee
6. Open Internet Explorer or which ever internet program you use and go to and download the iTunes+QuickTime program. *Do not do any modifications in the download of the program.* Just download the program by doing the usual "Next" clicking.
7. Once iTunes is finished downloading, double click on the Shortcut Icon on the desktop. iTunes should open with a large square box and you have to click "Agree."
Should be good to go.

My compaq mini 110 was infected with THINK POINT VIRUS. i downloaded a malware scanning program which seemingly worked for about a day...with an abundance of pop ups and self restarts. as i researched...

The re-installation of windows is however recommended, but you can try with follwing procedure to remove Think point Virus:-
1. Restart your computer in SafeMode - After Power-On the computer, just before Windows start, press F8 - From the selections, Select SafeMode
2. End ThinkPoint Process - Press Ctrl+Alt+Del from the keyboard to open Task Manager - Go to process Tab - Select 'hotfix.exe' and click on End Process - Close Task Manager
3. Remove Registry entries that the threat added. You MUST BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY FIRST. - Click Start > Run - Type in the field, regedit - Navigate and look for the registry entries mentioned above and delete if necessary
4. Delete malicious files that the threat added: - Base on the given location above, browse and delete the file - If no location is given, click Start>Search> and search for the files. - If cannot be deleted, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to access Task Manager, see if the file is running in the process. If it is, select the file and click End Process. Perform file delete again.
5. Scan computer with Antivirus Program - Update antivirus program - Scan computer and delete all detected threats.
Hope it will helps, if so do rate the solution
Good Luck

My laptop is running slow how can i fix this?

You can go through the control panel and remove programs that you no longer use. Deleted files in My documents that you no longer need. Deleted any picture music data that you don't need anymore. Also, you can run a virus scan on the computer, if you don't have virus protection, you can go to and download the trial version that they offer for 30 days. If the internet speed is slow, go to tools, Internet options then in the general tab click delete then delete everything in there but your passwords and then restart the computer and it should increase the speed from what it was before.

Slow computer

There is a great possibility that your computer has encountered a virus or malware and has got its processor busy. First of all you need to open the maintenance icon from the all programs to deframment all the drives. Now clean up all your temporary internet files, the cookies and history by selecting the explorer, open tools, use the subsequent windows for cleaning up . Next use your antivirus to fully scan the system, use a good malware cleaner like- advanced system care- which can be used to clean the registry, delete all temp files and make the system faster. If this wont improve, take away all unnecessary programs from your PC by uninstalling them, Delete off unneccessasy large files from your C drives, manage your documents in the seperate partitions. If this improves the speed you can continue to do this often. If not try to restore the PC to an earlier date by selecting the back up/ restore icon from the control panel. This must work out well or else there is a possibility that some files in your software is lost and reduces the speed. Hope this advice helps you out. Good day

Aspire One PC Notebook: i cant not open certain program, it says error , o...

You probably have a virus so everytime you double click even on Local Disk C:\ it will ask you to choose a program.
Download something called mata_virus it's a very nice script to kill the amvo virus and its variants.
Run it and after it's done it will show you the hidden files and folders. Then go to My computer and right -click on C:\ and then click explore.. then look for a file called autorun.inf. Right click and click on properties. Uncheck the "Read only" attribute. and then open it. and you will find the virus name and location. Write it down. Restart the pc safe mode and see if use the search (start - search) and look for that file. Delete it. Then restart normal mode and download an AV, I really like Avira Antivirus - ( and yes it's free - you can see its reviews on Install - update the virus definitions and run a complete scan. I hope this helps. If not, you will need to connect an external CD rom and use something like ERD Commander to restore Windows system Files and use the registry to remove any trace of the virus, but that's is not easy for the regular user, you really have to know what you are doing because If you delete the wrong file, you will damage the Windows installation completely.
Have a good day.

Do a Windows Update. This will be on your Start Menu. If it isn't, thenclick on "All Programs", then "Accessories", then "System Tools". Thiswill take you to the proper page. Alternatively, try with Vista). It is very important that you get all availablesecurity updates. Other updates may less critical, but are stillrecommended.

Get rid of cookies. These are the little crumbs that are left behind onyour computer after you visit a website. Click on Start>> ControlPanel>>Internet Options. The second row down will say DeleteCookies, click on that. Click on Delete Temporary file; when the littlebox comes up that says "delete offline," you don't have to click onthat. Click on Delete temporary Files.
400px-browsing_history_297.jpg magnify-clip.pngAlternatavely, download CCleaner and CleanUp! and run them both after installation. This will take care of all of your wasted space (e.g cookies, internet cache files).

  1. Complete Disk Cleanup. After clicking on "Start", move your cursoron "All Programs", then up to "Accessories", then "System Tools". Clickon "Disk Cleanup" from the list that appears. Click the "More Options"tab at the top of the page, and select all three of the following:"Windows Components," "Installed Programs," and "System Restore". Cleanup all three by clicking on their respective tabs. You may want todelete all but your most recent system restore point as you probablydon't need the others.
  2. Defragment your computer.Defragmenting your computer moves all your files to where they aresupposed to be. You may want to download an independent defragmenter(e.g. Defraggler by Piriform). It is small, concise, powerful, and much quicker than the one distributed with Windows.
  3. Remove adware, malware, and spyware. Use a search engine to find"Lavasoft AdAware 2008". This will take you to a site to download thesoftware. Download and install this program. You can also use "SpybotSearch & Destroy." SpywareBlaster is a good preventative measure to use as well. All have easy-to-follow instructions. SUPERAnti-Spyware is yet another option. For malware, MBAM is yet another option.
  4. Install anti-virus software. Kaspersky, AVG, Bitdefender, Antivir, and Avast are free for personal use.
  5. Go to My Computer. Now go to tools at the top. Folder Options...View, then check the box "Show Hidden Files and Folders" then go toLocal Disk, Documents & Settings, Your Account, and deleteeverything in: My Recent Documents, Local Settings History (Do notdelete everything in local settings, just delete everything in thehistory folder of local settings) (and while in Local Settings) Deleteeverything in temporary internet files.

    • When your computer is running in ship-shape, then go to start, allprograms, accessories, system tools, then system restore. Create arestore point, and when your computer is running poorly, restore it tothe day.
    • If you havn't cleant up your PC for a long time, you may need to clean your PC Registry with a System cleaner and Registry repair software
