It is silver plated. The 'S' in the model number F100AS indicates silver. An 'N' in a Yamaha flute model means it is nickel plated...

I have a solid silver selmer flute with gold lip plate, serial no. 3786. I cant find the date of manufacture. It is in pristine condition. Can you tell me the date?

Hi Erica.

Conn/Selmer has a web page with dating for a number of their affiliate instruments, though it doesn't look to be complete.
Serial Numbers If it was lumped in with the Conn 'Reed Mouthpiece' Instruments (as opposed to cup mouthpiece, which I'd think of as more 'brass', then it'd look to be 1899. The Artley Flute list starts with a serial # of 10000 in 1952. There appear to be other people out there having difficulty using their charts, and the Customer service page on the website is mum about contacting them directly, and suggests calling a nearby dealer. The dealer page is at

The description makes it sound like an Omega Model, see for instance

Hoping that helps.., and Happy Holidays

I want to find the age of yamaha studiolord serial 011039

Here are some links:http://www.yamaha.com/apps/guitararchives/serialnumberwizard.asp Also:https://store.bluebookinc.com/Info/PDF/EGuitar/ElectricSerialization.pdf (scroll to the bottom) Also have a look at this forum:http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/other-les-pauls/21393-yamaha-studio-lord.html You didn't mention the model number which should be on the headstock plate that covers the truss rod adjuster. My guess is late 70s to early 1980.
