I turned my tv on then it just went off and havnt

Please post the model number. Also, does the standby light blink a repeated pattern? If so, please post the repeating count.That will help us to diagnose the problem and provide solutions.

It can be many things.
Start with the basics.
Unplug the TV for 20 minutes. Unplug it while on!
If that does not reset the controls when you plug it back in, it may be the circuit board.
Have you had severe lightning?
Also try resetting you BIG Circuit breaker but I doubt that will do much.
If that outlet has gone bad, a reset will fix it.
A dimming indicates a fried circuit board or one with allot of dust and a short is forming.
Dust can cause this too.
