If your sensor has a quick connect, try eliminating it and hardwiring the connection. Sometimes the connectors wear from the heat. If this doesn't work, then the control is bad.

You need a new thermostat or oven sensor. These people are pretty good but I am have trouble find details on the model number you gave. This gives an idea.

Kenmore oven 9114288816

The "F3" fault indicates an open oven sensor probe or an open sensor circuit. The oven temperature sensor is no longer available. The oven temperature sensor circuit also has thermal fuse connected in a series circuit in one of the two wires in the sensor circuit. Based on the fault code, the sensor is faulty or the thermal fuse. The thermal fuse comes with the oven temperature sensor. Here is the part to order.

I have a kenmore glass top stove model # 66595781000 and need to change oven light how do i get the dome off to do this???

Recommended - unplug the oven before starting. The cover on the light should unscrew (turn counter-clockwise). The bulb also comes out by turning it counter-clockwise. Replace with a 40 W appliance bulb and turn clockwise to replace. Then replace the dome by turning it clockwise.

If you are having a problem, check if there is any surface dirt or a cross-threaded piece. If overtightened at some point, it could be hard to remove. Try using a plastic gripper (for opening jars) if you have one. Alternatively, you might try a soft rubber strap wrench - use very carefully. When replacing, make sure to only get the dome hand tight. Overtightening will damage the dome.

I hope this helps.

Don't know the model number. What does F-3 mean when it flashes when I try to turn on the oven temperture

Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. Error F3 in your range/oven means oven temperature sensor circuit failure. To resolve this issue you'll have to check the oven temp. sensor circuit if the reading is more then 1100ohms then it should be replaced however, if the rating is fine then it is the Electronic Range Control (ERC) that has gone bad & should be replaced. Please rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
Thanks Rylee

Exterior glass trim on Kenmore Electric Range 880-5981

While waiting for someone else to answer my question, I fiddled around with the door parts. I managed to reassemble them! Here's how:

1. start with the glass panel. Slide the glass panel into the slot at the bottom of the front door frame on the stove.

2. next attach the handle. There are slots on the bottom of the handle that fit into the top of the glass panel. Slide the handle slots into the top of the glass panel.

3. screw the handle onto the oven door using the predrilled holes on the inside face of the oven door.

4. last, attach each of the two side trim strips. Slide the top of each strip into the bottom of the handle on each side of the oven door. Then slightly bend the strip outwards so that they are short enough to fit into the bottom slot of the oven door frame on each side of the glass panel.
