This can be one of two things, generally. Either your browser is clearing the cookies (or you are), or your account information is set to ask for your password more frequently.

(1) Your password for Yahoo! is saved through a browser cookie. Therefore, if your browsers' cookies are cleared, you will be prompted to enter your password back in next time.

(2) Go to your Options, then Mail options. Then go to your account information and sign in if needed. Towards the middle of the page, there should be an entry for Prompt for password, which you can edit. If it's less than 2 weeks, then you will be prompted for your password as often as it says.

Also, if you log out of your account, you need to log back in each time.

Hope this is of help. Please don't forget to rate this solution and have a good evening. :)

Why does Yahoo keep repeat sign in every few minutes of the day?

Dear user,

Mail accounts automatically sign out after some time, say 15 mins, you have to enable keep me signed in option while logging in to prevent this from occurring.

Why do I have to sign in every time I open my Yahoo mail. It no longer opens without having to sign in every time.

  • Make sure Keep me signed in for 2 weeks unless I sign out. is checked when you log in to Yahoo! Mail.
  • Do not click Sign Out at the top of any Yahoo! page.
  • Make sure your Yahoo! account's Prompt for Password setting is Every 2 weeks:
    • Go to your Yahoo! account info.
    • Follow the Edit link under Member Information.
    • Make sure Every 2 Weeks is selected under Prompt for Password:.
    • Click Finished.
  • Do not clear your browser cookies manually.
  • Make sure your browser does not delete cookies when you shut it down.
  • Set browser extensions and anti-spyware software not to clear cookies or to exclude cookies from the "" domain.

I have to sign in every time I check my mail. I check my mail at least four times a day.

This could be due to a few issues.

One on your internet explorer options, you may have it set to delete cookies everytime it closes.

Two, you may not be checking the box that says keep me signed in for two weeks when you sign into yahoo mail.

If you are checking the box, then it is definetly the cookies setting on internet explorer. Go into the tools menu, internet options, and change it to where it doesnt delete settings and temporary cookies when you close internet explorer.

Also, when you are done checking your yahoo mail, do not click on sign out, or that will cause you to sign in everytime, and one final note.

After you are done using internet explorer to check you yahoo mail, dont close the internet explorer page, just type in maybe or something of the sort. And leave the internet explorer window open.

( you can minimize it if you like)

Dear Sir/Madam, I cannot open my main

it is just part of the glitch in Yahoo!'s new format.
Server Farm incompatibility is usually the problem.
Thousands are having many different problems with their e-mail.
This applies to almost all areas of mail (including signing in, composing, receiving, sending, attachments, photos, etc.), original and beta mail, messenger and search problems. I have been sent mail that is dated as far back as 8 days. But I do get it!!! The same thing applies to their recieving my mail, for the last few weeks.
Yahoo! is wrapping up a few remaining compatibility issues between Yahoo! Mail Beta (beta testing lasts for at least 6 months!!!) and the new Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.
    1. You will have less problems with original mail if you sign in via Messenger! Go to preferences, general, then check box: Automatically sign me in when I click a Yahoo! link in Messenger.
    2. Or if you don't have Yahoo Messenger:
Beta wouldn't let me in so I went to beta help and it said to click on my toolbar mail icon. So I did and it worked!
    3. Or if you don't have beta mail: can be used to sign into Yahoo!, then put yahoo back into the address bar and hit go. It will take you back to Yahoo! and you can open mail normally. Otherwise, you can open mail in wap, but it is blind. I had to go through wap each time I logged in.
    4. BETA means TESTING!!!
So, it seems we have to stop using these two programs (if you installed them) or try to work around them until they finish wrapping things up. Your IE6 is still installed, so you just have to go to: Start, settings/control panel, add/remove programs and delete IE7. For Beta mail you only have to use the switch back option located in your mail inbox. Also, where you sign in by clicking on: Are you having trouble?. You can keep trying them periodically!
