Was watching TV on Mitsubishi VS-5052, when power shut off. Tried turning power back on and can ''hear'' power shut on-off, but no image or sound. Is this as easy as a fuse in the power supply... or should we give up and purchase new television?

Hello, I have been having power problems with my Samsung FPT5084 50" plasma for the past year. I know what the problem is,m just don't know how to fix it. My TV keeps blowing fuses. I bought 10 12A 250V 5X20mm fuses from an online supplier because they are virtually extinct from hardware stores. I have gone through all 10 fuses in a year. I also bought an extened warranty on my TV from HHGREGG and have had a repair gut come out and "fix it" three times. After the second blown fuse, the repair guy installed a completely brand new power supply. Two days later, literally, it blew the fuse again. It's the top fuse not the bottom fuse. I did have my TV plugged into a Tripplite USB power surge protector. The repair guy recommended I switch surge protectors, so I did, but the TV continues to blow my fuses. I live in an older apartment complex (built in the 70's). Do you think the old wiring in the building has anything to do with my blown fuses? Is there anything you could recommend I can do to fix this problem? The repair men are obviously incomptent and I can't trust them. Every time I have to have one of them come to my place to replace a fuse, I have to miss work. Not cool. ANY advice/info. you can recommend would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you in adance!

I had a different TV do this and thought some one cut some wire on the circuit board, long story - an "X". Now my RCA is doing something similar. The picture blinks off and on, and it also jumps gets smaller and then larger then back to normal. We took the back off thinking it might be dust build up and we found a circuit board that sounds like it's sizzling, it's daylight, it may be sparking a bit and we just can't see it. Just like my last tv did, any suggestions.
