Two different engines:2.2 liter (most common) on right side of engine , towards firewall , same side as the oil filter.Single wire connector & wire color is tan with a black stripe. The 2.4 liter engine (Quad4) is located at the top rear of the engine same connector & same color wire. You will need a special tool. if not available a deep socket, or a big wrench or you can get creative with pliers.

How to replace oil pressure switch on 2000 windstar 3.8

First remove the ground wire from battery, next remove wires from alternator , take out three bolts from alternator, release the wire from the alternator by prying up plastic tie down, lift out alternator and set aside, next remove the three bolts on alternator base. before doing this use a 13mm wrench to release belt tencher it will lock itself, this will be found from under the frame. next remove belt an lift the base plate out, you will see the switched screwed into the block with a single wire attached ,unplug the wire an use a 21mm wrench or socket to remove the old switch an replace with new switch, now you are ready to replace everything in reverse an install ground cable on battery and start up an check for any leaks.

Generator is full of oil but keeps shutting off and indicator light shows low oil

hello, try disconnecting the wires for the switch. Start the unit, does it run without the switch? If so, I would replace the switch. do not run the unit without a new switch. If you take it to a local auto parts store, they can substitute a switch.

I have a LiftMaster garage door opener. It has started to act up a bit, and I can't seem to locate the problem. It opens just fine, but when we try to close it, with either the remote or the wall control,...

If the opener feels any resistance it will act like this.Make sure that the rollers on the door to frame are oiled well and turn easily, move in and out easily as well, you can also turn the screw to increase the resistance stop pressure.Oil the rollers well

Oil does not appear to always feed to bar. Currently I'm cleaning out oil storage with K-1 is there an line that can be blown thru?

behind the bar and clutch is where the oil pump is. its usually a worm and worm wheel style set of gears.
there is also a small dial that can be adjusted with a slot screwdriver. it should be numbered 1 to 4 this adjust the amount of oil flow. there will also be a breather for your oil resivor on huskies it is near the carb. it looks like it is copper beeds pressed together. pull the line out of the oil res and put low pressure through the line to blow out this breather. or replace the breather itself.

Beckett burner; I notice small particles of soot under stack vent

The soot can be caused by a number of reasons, if it was recently cleaned, I would wonder if the service tech just left a little mess behind. If you are reasonablely sure that is not the case, one cause could be a faulty pump. Inside the fuel pump is a pressure regulating valve, that is responisible for pump pressure and cut off. If the valve is failing, and not giving proper cut off, then a small amount of oil will drip into the chamber (called "after drip") and upon start up this oil burns incompletely causing a soot build up. A delay valve often masks the problem by providing the positive shut off electronically. Another problem/cause could be impoper adj. of the burner during the tune-up. On a final note, with equipment that old, it would be a good idea to start looking into a newer, more efficient system.

They are selling me a oil pressure switch for my car witch its not the size because the the nut is 1 1/8 size and they give me a smaller size. Why?

The replacement switch could be an "aftermarket" type that takes the place of the original. What's important is the size of the thread that fits into the oil port on the engine block. If the size is the same, it will probably work. If it isn't, you won't be able to install it.

You could ask the seller to cross-reference the part and verify its compatibility.

If you do elect to replace the switch, be sure to use some thread sealing compound on the threads (non-hardening) so you don't develop an oil leak.
