Question about XFX NVIDIA GeForce FX5200 Graphic Card

1 Answer

I have a Dell Dimensions 8300 with a GeForce FX5200 graphics card (version C.14.10.4502).It has D-Sub and DV1 outputs. The monitor is connected to the D-Sub output. However anything connected to the DV1 output will not work. Is it disabled in some way (mechanically or electronically)? Please help.

Thanks for the solution IT WORKED.

Is it possible to have the same information on both screens at the same time?

ie. the same internet info could be seen in different rooms at the same time.

Hey,

in windows, right click on your desktop, select properties, then settings and then click on the 2nd monitor, make sure the 2nd monitor is attached to the dvi, when the computer was turned on. so the 2nd monitor will appear in the settings.

I have a Dell Dimensions 8300 with a GeForce - 8eaa5aa.jpg
this will give image from the dvi output. to get objects to the 2nd monitor drag them out of a corner of the first screen. debending on what side the monitor is at.
Let me know if you need anything elsed.

Thanks,
Ekse

From Nvidia control panel go to the same properties page, then to advanced. from there nvidia control panel.

it will probably look diffrent on your computer but basicly, set it to clone to have same image on both screens.

Let me know if you need anything else.

    Thanks,

    Ekse

Hey, go to the display properties as in the first picture, then click on advanced, and find the nvidia panel from there.

Dear civetscat,

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

I have research these converters/adapters before that can convert from the DVI port on the video card to an HDMI source. They are very exspensive for the type that truely work, and the cheap ones provide terrible graphics. Your best bet, is to research both the adapter and a replacement video card for your PC that will have the HDMI and VGA outputs you seek.
I have provided links to both below, from a site call newegg.com

Adapter/Converter: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=DVI+to+HDMI+converter

Replacement video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161308

Happy hunting and have a great day!

you cant join two different platform vga cards. simply because they have their own platform and have separate drivers, so they conflict each other thus causing one of them shut off or disable..

Hi, i have had that problem before and its wasn't the graphics card drivers, it was loose, anyway for you case go to device manager and uninstall the graphics drivers from there then restart and install then manual by updating and locate the exact location from the cd or any other location that has them.
That should help
