you need toughened glass as tempered glass shatters in to a million pieces if stressed , hit or dropped
toughened glass can be obtained from any repair shop as an upgrade of the glass
I depends on how old your oven is. If you're lucky you may be able to get a replacement glass. If not take some measurements and see a glass supplier. You will need a piece of tempered glass.
You can get the glass cut and put in which might work out cheaper with the same thickness than to source the same glass from the Kenmore spares outlet..
Even tempered glass can shatter. It could have been a factory defect, or a small crack that had gone unnoticed until now. The glass is supposed to be durable, but it does happen from time to time. I found a replacement tray at repairclinic.com for $42. You can search by your model number or use item number 1174113. This was the only site that I could fins that carried the part for your oven. I hope this is helpful to you.
It is not a fault with the door, and this sort of event occurs quite often, so is not uncommon.
All sorts of things can cause this, sudden change in temp, getting the glass wet whilst it is still hot, a knock or bang form an earlier time could have weakened the glass.
The list is quite long..
Depending on your household insurance, some policys cover for breakage of glass fittings, would be worth checking.
Plz rate my solution
.Thanks.
will need a model number to tell you the correct price ... most will have to replace the door... you can also give sears a call .. if you gripe loud ... they may replace it for you...
